The MoFi StudioDeck is a high-quality, belt-driven turntable designed with a focus on sonic precision, mechanical stability, and durable construction. Developed by Mobile Fidelity Electronics, it is aimed at music lovers who seek serious analog playback without unnecessary automation or digital features. This version of the StudioDeck comes pre-mounted with an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge , ready to play.
Belt drive and smooth-running design
The StudioDeck uses a classic belt drive with a decoupled AC synchronous motor. This design ensures a consistent speed and minimizes unwanted vibrations. The speeds of 33 1/3 and 45 RPM are maintained stably and precisely, resulting in clean pitch accuracy and controlled rhythm.
The solid Delrin® platter offers high inherent damping and effectively reduces resonances. This ensures stable tracking of the record, enabling precise reproduction of the groove information.
10-inch tonearm for precise tracking
The StudioDeck is equipped with a 10-inch aluminum tonearm with gimbal mounting. The extended tonearm geometry reduces tracking error and ensures even tracking across the entire record surface. Tracking force, azimuth, tonearm height (VTA), and antiskating can be precisely adjusted, making the turntable ideally suited for future cartridge upgrades.
Pre-mounted Ortofon 2M Red
In this version, the MoFi StudioDeck comes equipped with the Ortofon 2M Red cartridge . This moving magnet (MM) cartridge offers dynamic, vibrant sound reproduction with clear highs, present mids, and a controlled bass foundation. It is ideally suited as an entry point into high-quality analog playback and harmonizes very well with the neutral character of the StudioDeck turntable.
Low-resonance frame and decoupling
The plinth combines MDF with an additional aluminum plate to increase mass and rigidity. Four specially designed, vibration-damping feet effectively decouple the turntable from the surface it rests on, reducing the effects of footfall noise and furniture resonance. These measures contribute significantly to a quiet, detailed sound reproduction.
Operation and application
The MoFi StudioDeck is intentionally designed as a manual turntable. It has no integrated phono stage and no automatic functions. This keeps the signal path short and unaltered. The turntable is ideally suited for high-quality stereo systems that use or already have an external phono preamp.
