It offers an unsurpassed home theater experience - all McIntosh industrial design, giving you exactly what you need to enjoy all your favorite HD and 4K, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD discs and DVDs.

The MX100 AC is designed to be heard, but not necessarily seen. It is well suited for installation in a hidden or remote A/V equipment rack. It has rack-friendly dimensions and rack-mounting brackets for ease of installation (the mounting brackets are removable for non-rack installations). Not just limited to rack installation, it also looks good and performs well when placed outdoors for all to see and enjoy.

It has 4 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output, all of which are HDCP 2.2 compliant. Each HDMI port also features 18 Gbps bandwidth to support High Dynamic Range (HDR) formats Dolby Vision™, HDR10 and HLG; 4K Ultra HD @ 50/60Hz; 4:4:4 color spacing; Rec. 2020; and 3D video pass-through. The HDMI output has an eARC function (Enhanced Audio Return Channel). eARC provides improved bandwidth, allowing the MX100 AC to receive higher resolution audio signals from your TV for the best possible sound quality. Two coax and 2 optical digital audio inputs are also included.

For audio output, the MX100 AC features 11.2 discrete audio channels, also known as a 7.2.4 home theater configuration. Seven high-quality 32-bit digital-to-analog converters (DACs) offer audiophile processing for the best audio reproduction. The MX100 can be connected to your home theater amplifiers via its 13 balanced (also known as XLR) outputs. By using balanced connections, you can be assured of the cleanest sound being transmitted through your balanced audio cables to your amplifier(s) and ultimately to your home theater speakers and subwoofer(s). The MX100 AC can be operated entirely by remote control, or your integrator can easily integrate it into your home automation system using the RS232 control protocol.

The MX100 AC can be used with any combination of McIntosh Home Theater Amplifiers, such as the MI347 7-Channel Amplifier - which does the same as the MX100 AC, the MC255 5-Channel Amplifier or the MC257 7-Channel Amplifier and others in one Can be rack mounted.
