HISTORY

Ortofon has a long history of experimenting with materials and technologies, and with the Concorde Elite, Ortofon is now bringing the worlds of music lovers together. They have developed a pickup system that is characteristic of Ortofon's groundbreaking pioneering work in design and incorporates years of knowledge about how music should be reproduced as it was intended to be heard. Thanks to the improved components, the Elite achieves a new level of sound quality previously not found in DJ category cartridges.

ELITE DETAILS & EXCLUSIVE FEATURES

The Concorde Elite features a new, custom-molded pickup body with real gold plating, adding an extra touch of luxury to the famous Concorde design. The gold encloses a nude elliptical diamond mounted on a rigid aluminum cantilever. The bare diamond typically found in hi-fi pickups delivers such powerful and detailed sound that you will experience a remarkable live performance. The use of a bare diamond allows for a lower moving mass, which guarantees improved and detailed sound quality, and the advanced diamond's slim profile makes it possible to more closely follow the vibrations of the groove, extracting finer details and capturing even the highest frequency information.

The boom must offer the perfect compromise between low weight and high strength, which requires a great deal of ingenuity in both the design and the choice of materials. The properties of the rigid 750 µm aluminium-magnesium cantilever developed exclusively for the Concorde Elite ensure that the stylus captures the vibrations of the groove with a stable and accurate precision. The ideal interface between stylus and armature. Inside the armature is a unique coil system that transmits the movements of the diamond for optimal performance. The engineering of the coil system gives the Elite a powerful, full-bodied sound of high quality and performance.

To ensure superior directional stability, a new rubber suspension was developed. The new rubber compound was specially developed for the Concorde Elite to achieve the desired properties for exceptional pickup performance. The richer, fuller sound conveys music in the most lifelike manner, with close attention paid to attenuating excess brightness.
