The JBL Summit Ama represents the very best of modern loudspeaker technology – a reference-class floorstanding speaker designed for music lovers with the highest standards. As the flagship model in the JBL Summit series for 8-inch drivers, the Summit Ama combines uncompromising engineering with luxurious design.
At the heart of the technology is the custom-designed JBL D2815K tweeter , a 1.5-inch dual-diaphragm, dual-motor compression driver. This is combined with a large-format Sonoglass® HDI™ (High Definition Imaging) horn , delivering exceptionally precise dispersion and impressive detail resolution.
Outstanding sound quality thanks to innovative materials
Another special feature is the 8-inch woofer with its innovative HC4 cone system . The Hybrid Carbon Cellulose Composite Cone consists of a sandwich-like structure with pure cellulose, carbon fiber, and closed-cell foam. The result is a perfect balance of rigidity, lightness, and stability—ideal for low-distortion, powerful bass reproduction while maintaining high power handling.
Precise signal processing thanks to MultiCap™ technology
A key component of the excellent sound quality is the JBL MultiCap™ crossover network . By using many small capacitors instead of a few large ones, the electrical resistance (ESR) is minimized. This retains more energy in the signal path, resulting in greater dynamic range, better clarity, and lower distortion. The crossover also supports both single-wire and bi-amp/bi-wire operation.
Elegant design meets acoustic optimization
The Summit Ama's perfectly designed cabinet construction underscores its high-end credentials. Internal, offset bracing and curved, damped walls prevent disruptive cabinet resonances. Available in either high-gloss black with platinum accents or glossy ebony veneer with gold details , the speaker blends stylishly into any home environment.
The specially developed JBL | IsoAcoustic® feet , integrated into the mass-elastic, damped stand, ensure optimal isolation from the floor. These effectively reduce mechanical vibrations, thereby increasing the precision of bass reproduction, soundstage imaging, and spatial positioning. The high-quality feet are included in the scope of delivery and not only provide acoustic advantages but also ensure an elegant, secure appearance for the speakers.
