110 years of innovative audio performance
Celebrate 110 years of defining audio engineering with Denon and the DCD-A110 Silver Graphite Anniversary Limited Series SACD Player. Denon has been improving audio and video experiences since 1910. We are celebrating this extraordinary achievement with the limited DCD-A110 and the matching integrated amplifier PMA-A110 from Denon's anniversary series in silver-graphite.
Created to exceed your expectations
The new DCD-A110 has been carefully engineered to surpass even the high standards of our trusted SACD players. With a limited edition silver-graphite finish, solid body, cast-iron feet and in-house patented Advanced SVH-CD mechanism, the AVC-A110 is purpose-built for dedicated fans. Engineered and engineered to the highest standards, the sleek DCD-A110 looks as good as it sounds. The 110 year anniversary logo marks this extraordinary milestone.
Certificate of Authenticity and 5 year guarantee
This flagship SACD player from Denon's Anniversary Series comes with a special Certificate of Authenticity, authenticated by Denon's lead engineer, and a 5-year warranty (stylus excluded).
Supports DSD disc playback
In addition to CD and Super Audio CD, the DCD-A110 can also handle DSD (2.8MHz/5.6MHz) and Hi-Res audio files up to 192kHz/24bit from DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW -Play discs. Files from CD-R/RW discs with sampling frequencies up to 48 kHz can also be played back.
Ultra AL32 signal processing at 1512MHz
Ultra AL32 signal processing, Denon's latest waveform reproduction technology, applies data interpolation algorithms and supports Hi-Res 192kHz/24-bit PCM signal input. In large data sets, the algorithms interpolate data points that are missing before and after existing points, so that the waveform is smoothed and resembles the original signal.
These algorithms upscale to the bandwidth of the original content, improving sound reproduction. Ultra AL32 signal processing doubles the processing bandwidth of the previous generation (AL32) and upscales 384kHz/32-bit content to 1.512MHz. Because data lost during digital recording is carefully recovered, playback is extremely detailed and free from interference. Instruments and voices can be precisely localized and are very expressive, especially in the lower frequency range - in short: very close to the original recording.
Intel Inside - Ultra AL32 signal processing
Intel's latest Field Programmable Gate Array, the Cyclone 10, is on board to handle the amount of data to be processed. The new processor surpasses the already high performance of current AL32 signal processing.
Quad DAC configuration
For the first time, the DCD-A110 uses a configuration with a quadruple D/A converter, which converts the large amounts of data from the new Ultra AL32 processing engine. This enables the current output to be concentrated and the operating frequency limit of the DACs to be exceeded. In addition, the noise level is reduced by improving the signal-to-noise ratio by 4 (DSD) to 6 dB (PCM) depending on the sampling frequency of the content, as well as the total harmonic distortion (THD). Instead of a simple analog filter circuit used in traditional op amps, the DCD-A110 features a fully discrete filter stage with audio parts that have been carefully selected and tuned by the Denon Soundmaster for outstanding audio performance.
DAC as main clock generator (master clock design)
Accuracy is the key to performance: the DCD-A110 is equipped with two clock oscillators. One for each sampling frequency (44.1 and 48 kHz). In order to thoroughly suppress any jitter, it is possible to switch between the two frequencies. The high quality clock provides the reference for quad DAC operation and ensures that the digital audio circuitry is used to its full potential.
The DCD-A110 is equipped with a tri-state multiplexer, which serves as a buffer, so that the signal from the main clock generator can be delivered directly and uncorrupted to the DA converters. The main clock signal is generated by a crystal oscillator and only passes through the buffer circuit once on its way to the DAC. Jitter is only affected for 18 femtoseconds (10-15 seconds).
Separate power supplies for digital and analog
To prevent mutual interference and any noise, the power supplies for the digital and analog circuits are completely separate.
Dedicated analog supply circuit with discrete design
The analog power circuitry features a fully discrete audio-optimized design, utilizing Denon's high-capacity (3,300 µF) blocking capacitor after the D/A converter for the power supply of the analog audio circuitry comes. The DCD-A110 features an impressive array of purpose-built parts, including high-power bipolar transistors, a fully discrete voltage regulator circuit, high-quality sound electrolytic capacitors, and polyphenylene sulfide capacitors. These bespoke components have been developed in collaboration with selected manufacturers through countless listening sessions. The result is a clean, robust and stable power supply that offers an exceptional level of dynamics as well as impressive overall performance.
Original Denon disc drive with Advanced SVH mechanism
The SVH mechanism (Suppress Vibration Hybrid), with which other high-performance players from Denon are also equipped, ensures the shortest possible signal paths in order to avoid noise. In addition, the parts are made of high quality materials: the copper top plate improves stability, the disc drive is made of die-cast aluminum and the disc drive mechanism brackets are made of two millimeter thick steel. This massive construction contributes to excellent vibration resistance. The disc mechanism's low center of gravity helps eliminate any vibrations due to the rotating movement inside the player. By eliminating unwanted vibrations, digital signals can be read from the disc with the highest precision and under stable conditions.
High quality audio components
All audio components are handpicked and optimized for the best sound quality. The DCD-A110's specially designed audio frequency condenser comes from the DCD-SX1 Limited, our premium SACD player only available in Japan. The audio and power sections are largely equipped with AMRS and MELF resistors. MELF resistors offer higher performance while maintaining low current noise.
Circuits with shortened signal paths
The circuits of the DCD-A110 have been carefully designed according to the principle of "simple and direct". Circuit patterns have been redesigned from the ground up to keep signal paths as short as possible so that the full range of sounds of the recording can be faithfully reproduced. Thanks to this design, interference between circuits, between left and right channels and negative influences on the audio signal are minimized, resulting in a pure and highly transparent sound.
Stable mechanical basic construction
The music signal can be affected by internal vibrations caused by the rotation of the disc, the power transformer or the sound pressure from speakers. To suppress these vibrations, Denon engineers have created the "Direct Mechanical Ground Construction". With this design, the power transformers – themselves a source of vibration – are located near the feet of the DCD-A110, so unwanted vibrations are transmitted directly to the ground, rather than interfering with nearby circuitry. Because the drive mechanism – the component with the greatest mass – is located centrally in the lower part of the housing, the center of mass is shifted downwards. Therefore, internal vibrations due to the rotation of the loaded disc are effectively absorbed. At the same time, the mechanism is protected from external vibrations. To shield them even further, the 1.2 mm thick housing has been reinforced with two 1.6 mm thick steel plates. This creates a highly rigid three-layer structure with sufficient anti-vibration inertial mass.
