The CGEIB-IP from Crestron is a powerful and future-proof solution for seamlessly connecting a Crestron control center to a KNX (formerly EIB) installation. Whether via RS232 or Ethernet (TCP/IP), this interface offers maximum flexibility and compatibility for professional building automation applications.
The ability to filter data directly from KNX/EIB messages and forward them to the Crestron system in real time creates seamless communication between both worlds. This ensures that the Crestron system always receives up-to-date information about the status of the KNX installation, significantly increasing the efficiency and responsiveness of the entire control architecture.
A particular advantage of the CGEIB-IP is its backward compatibility: It can be easily integrated into existing installations using the predecessor model, the CGEIB. Thanks to the expanded TCP/IP functionality, modern network communication via Ethernet is also possible – without having to forego the proven RS232 connection.
With the CGEIB-IP, Crestron underscores its expertise in developing reliable, DIN rail-compatible components for smart buildings. The device requires only two modules on the DIN rail and impresses with its robust construction and low energy consumption.
