Acoustic Signature was founded in 1996 in Süßen, Baden-Württemberg, and is today one of the established manufacturers of high-quality analog audio technology. Just one year after its founding, Managing Director and Chief Developer Gunther Frohnhöfer presented the first in-house developed mass-loaded turntable from the company's own factory. The resulting international attention laid the foundation for Acoustic Signature's reputation as an innovation-driven company in the high-end audio sector.

Development and manufacturing Made in Germany

Acoustic Signature products are manufactured entirely at their site in Süßen, Baden-Württemberg. The team, now comprised of 28 members, includes engineers, electrical engineers, precision lathe operators, goldsmiths, and other specialists who contribute their expertise to development and production. Supported by modern CNC manufacturing and state-of-the-art CAD/CAM systems, they create components that are consistently designed for precision, functionality, and durability.

Production is carried out by hand using the highest quality materials and regional suppliers. In addition to technical precision, the tactile experience also plays a central role – with the aim of creating design icons that are both mechanically and visually compelling.

Technological expertise in analog drive construction

Acoustic Signature develops numerous key technologies in-house. A central element is AVC (Automatic Vibration Control) technology, which measures vibrations in real time and reduces them by automatically adjusting the motor signals. Depending on the drive concept, this technology is used in three levels of development (AVC Level 1 to Level 3).

In addition, the further developed CLD (Constraint Layer Damping) technology forms the basis for a resonance-optimized chassis and platter design. Building on decades of experience and simulation-based development, designs with significantly improved vibration behavior are created.

Another key technical feature is the Dura Turn Diamond® Bearing (DTD®). This specially developed bearing with a diamond-like surface significantly reduces the coefficient of friction, operates maintenance-free, and is individually adapted for each turntable in the NEO series.
