Description Stax SR-003 MKII in-ear headphones

The Stax SR-003 MKII are black in-ear headphones that can be worn either in the ear or with the supplied 'Over Head Arc' headband. The in-ear headphones have ear inserts made of transparent silicone in sizes S, M and L. They only weigh 12g. The connection cable is made of oxygen-free pure copper (LCOFC), the plug is gold-plated. The cable is 1.5 meters long.

The in-ear headphones are open and, as already mentioned, have two wearing options.

All headphones and in-ear headphones from Stax are electrostats that work according to the push-pull principle. Due to their working principle, they require a Stax driver amplifier for operation. The manufacturer recommends the headphone amplifier SMR-252S for the SR-003.

Description Stax SRM-252S

The STAX SRM-252S is the entry-level brand for STAX amplifiers, but without making the impression of an entry-level device. In combination with the SR-207 handset, it is cheaper as a set and its sound is clearly above all comparable price combinations of dynamic handset with headphone amplifier. Like the larger amplifier models, the STAX SRM-252S is also equipped with a double set of cinch sockets for looping through the input signal.
