The foundation of every high-quality power supply is reliable grounding - and the best and easiest way to achieve this is power distribution with star-shaped grounding. Quantum QRT's QBASE is a deceptively simple solution to the problem of finding an adequate power supply for a high-quality hi-fi or AV system: Simple, because we have left out all unnecessary things; deceptive, because there is still much more in it than it seems at first glance.
The quintessence of the QBASE concept is a linear power supply path that is combined with a star-shaped grounding. By deliberately avoiding any form of series filters or active circuits, we ensure the lowest possible source impedance, and through a minimal artificial increase in the impedance on the earth conductor in seven of the eight slots, we route the signal grounds to the neutral point in a defined manner. This particular slot is marked on the housing of the bar and should be the central ground point of your system, and thus supply your most important device with power. By selecting the order of your components in the QBASE distribution, further optimizations can be made. The safety sockets are firmly mounted in an extruded aluminum profile, which is closed with milled end caps and not only gives a good feeling when you touch it. Above all, the housing and the internal circuit board (which we deliberately prefer to use freely wired versions) are tuned to optimize resonance in order to optimize the sound result.
