The JBL L42ms is an integrated music system designed to meet today's entertainment lifestyle by presenting the iconic sound of a pair of JBL speakers in a single enclosure system. Behind the iconic JBL Quadrex grille are two 100mm woofers and two 20mm aluminum dome tweeters with waveguides positioned left and right to create a wide and even sound field. Externally, the L42ms are equipped with an elegant, curved grille and beveled side edges and are available in the classic JBL real wood veneers Black Walnut or Natural Walnut.
Audio connections include two analog stereo inputs (a pair of RCA inputs and a 3.5mm input) as well as an HDMI ARC for connecting to a TV with a similar connector for audio signal and control. Additionally, the L42ms can play streamed content over a wired or wireless network connection via Spotify Connect, Apple Airplay2TM and Google Chromecast, or connect directly to a device via Bluetooth. All audio signals are passed through an advanced DSP engine, where the content is carefully contoured and output to the speakers via a four-channel amplifier that delivers 75W RMS to each woofer and 25W RMS to each tweeter. The entire system's 200W RMS amplifier power can be controlled via a touch panel on the top of the case, the included Bluetooth remote control, or via one of the many music or automation apps.
The L42ms was designed and developed at the Harman Center of Acoustics Excellence in Northridge, California. It leverages JBL's over 75 years of experience in speaker and electronics development to deliver truly outstanding sound and comfort, surpassing most traditional HiFi component systems.
