emit 10

Hi-Fi starts with Emit

Compact loudspeakers that outperform their size in terms of sound

The Emit 10 is a compact two-way floorstanding loudspeaker using technologies from our high-end Confidence, Contour i and Evoke series. It is ideal for smaller rooms or the satellite channels of a home theater system.

The Emit 10 was developed and optimized in the Danish Dynaudio Labs - by the same talents who have perfected our multi-award-winning high-end product lines.

Under the hood there is a 14 cm diameter mid-bass driver made of MSP (magnesium silicate polymer). MSP is a material we developed ourselves and have been using for decades. It offers just the right combination of lightness, stiffness and damping that allows a membrane to be precisely controlled without loss of performance. This property is essential when a chassis is to cover both the deep bass and the important mid-range frequencies.

Legendary technology

The mid/bass driver of the Emit 10 is based on the Esotec+ from the successful Evoke series. Its double magnet system allows better control of the deflection and is characterized by a higher sensitivity. For you as a music lover, this means: At lower frequencies, you can look forward to an improved frequency response and greater dynamics. At the same time, no details are lost in the sensitive mid-range. So you hear a powerful rhythm section as it's meant to sound—and guitar, vocals, and all other elements of a production come through without distortion, even at high levels.

If you take a closer look at your Emit 10, you'll see that the dust cap wasn't simply glued onto the membrane. Rather, it is part of the playback surface of the loudspeaker membrane. The segmented structure behind it - the "Balance Ribs" - is connected directly to the 38 mm voice coil. It creates an incredibly strong connection to the drive system, allowing even more kinetic energy to be transferred from the coil to the membrane.

behind the membrane

The voice coil itself is made from copper clad aluminum wire. Aluminum is light, so the chassis boasts remarkable nimbleness. The copper coating, in turn, increases conductivity so that more power can be achieved. The result is a winning combination of attention to detail and pressure.

A high-quality double ferrite magnet system provides the required power. The two subsystems are arranged as a space-saving stack, but this setup serves a different purpose: by using two magnets, our designers can better control the magnetic flux and direct it back to the voice coil where it's needed. (Of course, we can't break the laws of physics—but we like to bend them a bit sometimes.)

High quality Cerotar tweeter

The Cerotar tweeter is the same that you will find in our Evoke series. It's based on the concepts used in the tweeter of the award-winning Esotar Forty and the incredible Esotar3 (which you can hear in our Heritage Special and Confidence series).

This is a 28mm coated fabric tweeter. We call the coating “DSR” – Dynaudio Secret Recipe. Why do we rely on fabric tweeters? They convey all the details of a recording and ensure an open sound image. So you can enjoy your favorite music for many hours without hearing fatigue. These are speakers you'll enjoy all day (and I'm sure, nights too).

Behind the calotte is the Hexis module, which you may have heard of. This is an ingenious dome that hides directly behind the playback surface in the tweeter. It shapes the airflow in such a way that the frequency response is optimized and unwanted resonances are suppressed. This allows the membrane to move much more precisely, which is audible as a particularly detailed high-frequency reproduction.

It is set in motion by a strontium carbonate ferrite+ ceramic magnet system, which ensures greater sensitivity, improved transparency and natural, dynamic reproduction.

The crossover

The Emit 10's crossover was designed by the same engineers who worked on the Heritage Special and Core monitors; our professional studio system in reference quality. A first-order design is used for the tweeter and a second-order topology for the woofer/midrange driver. We could have used a unit circuit as well, but that would have been at the expense of playback quality. And we wanted to spend more time on the technically correct and target-oriented solution. And when you hear the result, you'll no doubt agree that it was the right decision.

The finishing touch

On the back you can see the bass reflex path. It is a dual-flare system that reduces air turbulence and minimizes unwanted flow noise (“chuffing”), especially in the bass range. We've even perfected the internal cushioning material - yes, that's possible too. It's measured to the gram to achieve the perfect balance of damping and tonal openness.

The cabinets are made from 18mm MDF and finished with beautiful laminate finishes. Three different variants are available: "Black", "White" and "Walnut". In all variants, the speaker covers are fixed with magnets. So if you want a different look, or… little people just want to poke sticky fingers into the membranes, you can quickly create a safe and elegant disguise.

The Emit 10 is the ideal entry into the world of real hi-fi sound. Cutting-edge technology, reduced Danish design and unrivaled performance in this price range. What more could you ask for?

Simple and unfussy

The Emit range of speakers suit modern lifestyles and interiors. Whether it's a classic stereo system or a large surround system: clear lines, simple surfaces and the typically minimalistic Scandinavian design also create aesthetically clear relationships.

The Cerotar tweeter

The Emit uses the profiled Cerotar tweeter from our Evoke series. This is a particularly high quality tweeter inspired by our high-end Confidence and Heritage Special ranges. Among other things, it owes its exceptional performance to the innovative, resonance-reducing Hexis inner dome.

Developed and engineered in Denmark

The entire Emit product family was put through its paces in our high-end Jupiter measuring system in the Dynaudio Labs. The Emit loudspeakers have to meet the same strict criteria as all other loudspeakers in our range. Every detail is measured; everything is put to the test.
