Audio Physic Classic 25
As with the previous Classic 20 model, Audio Physic uses the sandwich construction of the housing known from the Avanti or Midex for the Classic 25: The inner body made of MDF is covered on the outside with panels made of glass painted on the back, a special bonding made of 2 millimeters thick Acrylate strips ensure a permanently elastic connection between the two materials. With their completely different resonance properties, these can no longer develop their own housing sound.
The defined distance also ensures a double-glazing effect: sound radiated backwards into the housing hardly ever escapes to the outside. This makes it easier for the tweeter and midrange drivers to work undisturbed. You don't hear a speaker, just the pure music!
An additional advantage of the glass panels is their elegant and extremely hard-wearing high-gloss surface - even after years of use and care, they look like they did on the first day and without losing their shine and the incomparable depth effect. Such an impressive and lasting surface quality simply cannot be achieved with conventional painting.
As a further special design feature, the invisible woofer was adopted from the Classic 20; this works inside the housing in its own, elaborately designed compartment. The bass reflex opening was also hidden invisibly on the bottom of the housing, and a high-strength ceramic foam element in front of the air outlet prevents annoying flow noise. Compared to the previous model, the woofer has grown by an inch: the woofer, which is now 20 centimeters in diameter, ensures increased sovereignty in the bass range in conjunction with an adapted tuning.
The Classic 25 also corresponds to the state of the art of the Classic series in terms of the rest of the chassis equipment: the midrange driver has the unique double basket construction and a perfectly matched membrane made of glass fiber fabric; a fixed phase plug improves the ventilation of the oscillating system. The mids, which are so important, benefit from this constructive effort. It is precisely here that our hearing works particularly sensitively and notices discolorations immediately. The Classic 25 reproduces tones and voices as naturally and authentically as was previously only possible in higher price ranges.
The oscillating system of the tweeter of the Classic 25 is also extensively ventilated, so that the fabric dome, which is manufactured by a German specialist company, always finds ideal working conditions even under heavy loads. Thanks to the powerful drive and the low natural resonance, the tweeter achieves exemplary signal fidelity far beyond the audible limit. A small horn-shaped sound guide surrounds the actual dome and ensures a seamless transition between mids and highs. So you can also enjoy music in a relaxed manner outside the so-called sweet spot.
All in all, the new Classic 25 takes a significant step forward in terms of construction and sound compared to the already very good predecessor model. It even comes astonishingly close to the structurally similar Avanti from the reference line. In its own price range, the Classic 25 need fear no comparison!

3-way principle
With the 3-way loudspeaker, three different loudspeaker chassis share the reproduction spectrum. One or more woofers, a mid-range speaker and a tweeter. The separation of low and mid-range is usually between 150 Hz - 300 Hz, the crossover frequency of mid-range to high-frequency chassis is usually 2000 Hz to 3000 Hz.
Ceramic foam bracing
Ceramic foam is a high-tech material that is used in many of our loudspeakers to reinforce the housing. It is significantly more stable than MDF, but consists of 85% air. This increases the effective working volume of the loudspeaker with the same housing size.
