Sennheiser IE 600 in-ear headphones

These extraordinary earphones not only reproduce the details and emotions of a recording - they amplify them. Because every IE 600 is a masterpiece. From the hand-finished housing made of amorphous metal to the high-end audio components developed and manufactured by Sennheiser, every detail of these earphones has been thought through at the highest level and manufactured with the greatest care. The balanced frequency response of the IE 600 promises an unadulterated, natural reproduction - and due to the high-quality materials, it is able to keep this promise even after many years.

A BALANCED, NEUTRAL SOUND

  • Audiophile sound: TrueResponse speakers enable an extra-wide frequency range and particularly low-distortion playback performance
  • Unique two-chamber absorber system: absorbs masking frequencies so that even the finest textures of a recording can be heard
  • Specially developed membrane foil: minimizes self-resonance and distortion
  • Acoustic back volume: perfectly tuned for a neutral, intimate and
    emotional sound
  • Highest precision: Sennheiser transducers have been perfected so that the channel match of both earphones is almost identical

A benchmark in the development of the IE 600 for our engineers was the neutral playback behavior of high-end studio monitors. The acoustic back volume inside the earphones has been optimized for this purpose. The careful tuning ensures a presence and tonal intimacy that brings you even closer to your music and always reveals new accents and details.

This intonation imparts a presence and intimacy that brings listeners closer to the music and allows them to discover new accents and details. However, achieving this level of balance and naturalness was not easy. For example, when similar sounds occur simultaneously in a piece, it can be difficult for the human ear to pick out all the nuances.

Enabling such a sovereign and natural reproduction presented our developers with great challenges. For example, masking effects occur when two similar sounds overlap in a recording – the nuances are lost. The IE 600 is therefore equipped with two-chamber absorbers (D2CA) that absorb masking frequencies so that even the finest textures of a recording can be heard.

Harder than steel - an earphone for eternity

Due to their remarkable properties, amorphous metals are a kind of "holy grail" of materials research.

Now finally their production is controllable. And the wait was worth it. The zirconium alloy from Heraeus Amloy Technologies chosen by Sennheiser for the IE 600 has three times the hardness and flexural strength of high-performance steel. Amorphous metals are shock-frozen during manufacture so that, unlike conventional metals, they cannot form a crystalline structure. The result is a silky-matt, shimmering surface that is exceptionally resistant to corrosion and scratches.

The housing of each IE 600 is manufactured in Germany using a 3D printing process. The metal powder used can be brought into any conceivable shape - and with the smallest manufacturing tolerances. The chambers and channels of the playback system are created in an additive manufacturing process without the need for milling.

Due to the high cost, materials in this category and the required manufacturing process can only be used for specific tasks. This includes - in addition to absolute high-end products such as the IE 600 - the drilling head of a Mars rover from NASA; there, too, exceptional resilience is required under extreme conditions.

HARDER THAN STEEL - ONE EARPHONE TO LAST

  • Exceptional design: ZR01 amorphous-zirconia cases offer incredible
    Resistance and extremely robust aesthetics
  • Unique manufacturing process: The housing of each IE 600 is manufactured in Germany using a patented 3D printing process
  • Resistant to corrosion: Due to the metal's unique, glass-like atomic structure
  • Fidelity (+) MMCX sockets: Are countersunk in the housing, which guarantees ideal stability and a secure hold.
  • Para-Aramid Reinforced Cables: Able to endure 8000+ extreme bends without wearing out

THE COMFORT OF A CUSTOM FIT

  • Utmost Precision & Handcraft: ZR01 housings are handcrafted by highly skilled technicians for the best possible quality and fit
  • Ergonomic design: The small earphones sit securely in the ear and offer a pleasant, long-lasting wearing comfort
  • Optimal Fit: Choice of silicone and memory foam ear adapters for optimal noise isolation
  • Flexible ear hooks: that adapt to the natural shape of the ear
  • Global 2 year manufacturer warranty

Get even closer to your music

Whatever music moves you - with the IE 600 you will feel it even more intensively. Enjoy details beyond the tones: the subtle gliding of the bow over the strings of a violin or the gripping of the neck of an acoustic guitar. Absolutely neutral: The IE 600 makes your music sound lively and intense; crystal clear and unadulterated. The IE 600 also achieves this extraordinary balance in the bass range, where it is able to reproduce complex passages powerfully and tightly. Its "heart" is the 7 mm Sennheiser TrueResponse transducer. It is responsible for the extra-wide frequency range and the particularly low-distortion playback performance.

Automated manufacturing, manual processing

The case is made of ZR01 amorphous metal in Germany. It includes both automated and manual steps.

The computer-controlled laser sintering process applies a thin layer of metal powder and welds the molten alloy to the underlying, already hardened material. Layer by layer, the earphone takes on its final shape. A technician then manually removes any artifacts of the manufacturing process.

Thorough cleaning, steel shot blasting, polishing and a complex surface treatment follow. It is only after the case has gone through all these stages of work that it acquires its final and extremely robust aesthetic. Typical daily use leaves no scratches or other signs of wear on this high-quality case.

A faithful companion on your (sound) journey

Every single TrueResponse converter manufactured by Sennheiser is consistently designed for durability.

We are proud to operate one of the most advanced production lines of its kind in the world at our facility. And it serves one purpose: to not only meet the expectations of our audiophile customers, but to exceed them. One of the ways we meet this high standard is by perfecting the channel matching of our earphones until there is practically no difference between the left and right channel. The distortion factor of the IE 600 doesn't have to shy away from any comparison either.

The high-quality playback system is protected by the housing made of durable amorphous metal. The acoustic and optical joy of these incomparable earphones can last not only for years, but for decades.

The comfort of a tailored fit

The sound created by the IE 600 is as spectacular and extraordinary as its appearance is ergonomic and compact.

The gold-plated MMCX connectors are sunk into the housing, which guarantees ideal stability and a secure hold. They accept cables up to 4.8mm in diameter, allowing you to use the IE 600 with a wide variety of hi-fi components - including those with balanced outputs.

You have a choice of para-aramid reinforced unbalanced and balanced cables. Cables with 3.5mm and 4.4mm plugs are included. A variant with 2.5 mm plugs is available separately. Ear pads in two versions - silicone and memory foam - each in three different sizes are included. Here you are sure to find a comfortable, optimal fit that will allow you to enjoy music intensively for many hours. Flexible, adjustable ear hooks also increase wearing comfort
