The French brand, with its unique know-how in acoustics, has given its iconic product a new design while making acoustic improvements. All the exclusive high-end technologies that make the Utopia headphones so successful can also be found in this new edition, so that you can continue to bring sensational listening experiences with even more sophistication and elegance to your home.
The design of the new Utopia is a combination of simplicity and elegance. Following the aesthetics of Focal's latest open (Clear Mg) and closed (Stellia and Celestee) hi-fi headphones, the honeycomb grille on the outside and inside of the earcups gives a unique and remarkable look.
In addition to the black chrome rings, now applied from the inside for a cleaner look, these headphones introduce new design codes that will also be featured on future Focal Utopia products. Thus, the 'Yin & Yang' on the housing symbolizes the perfect balance between design and technology embodied by these high-end French headphones, as does the black and red double grille on the motor unit of the speaker drivers.
The Yin & Yang of technical sophistication
The M-shaped, full-range beryllium speaker drivers are completely open and operate from 5 Hz to over 50 kHz with no passive or active correction! The listening experience they deliver is amazingly realistic, precise and dynamic, with a wide and deep soundstage: close your eyes and feel the musicians next to you. Combining comfort and aesthetics, Utopia offers an uncompromising design and concept. The forged temples made from recycled carbon are modern and sophisticated in style, while at the same time providing more lightness. The honeycomb grille and black chrome ring showcase subtle design details like the yin & yang on the outer case, the black and red dual grille on the speaker driver, and more.
The Focal engineers have opted for a new voice coil made of copper with an aluminum alloy. This combination makes the voice coil more reliable and lighter. The effects on the sound are immense: the results are powerful bass and smoother treble for even more neutrality than you are used to from the first Utopia reference headphones.
Utopia is made from high-quality, sophisticated materials. The new forged, recycled carbon headband adds a sleek touch to the headphones, making them lighter and more evenly distributing their weight. The genuine leather headband and perforated memory foam earcups - also leather bound - offer unparalleled comfort and softness. Finally, an exceptional pair of headphones also requires a first-class accessory: Utopia comes in a faux leather packaging with a black thermoformed fabric case and two high-fidelity cables (3m and 1.5m) to connect the headphones to an amplifier at home or can be used on the go with Lemo® connectors and a jack adapter.
