When it comes to equipment, the CLASSIC Compact uses the high-performance chassis of the CLASSIC 20. The 15-centimetre woofer is equipped with a particularly torsion-resistant cast aluminum basket and optimum ventilation. Even deep and powerful basses are reproduced so cleanly and differentiated. The oversized drive ensures perfect control in every situation. A fixed phase plug prevents compression effects, contributing to a clear and tangible midrange performance.

To support low frequencies, the CLASSIC Compact have a bass reflex tuning. Here they use the trend-setting design of the CLASSIC 10 with special sound guidance in the sides of the loudspeakers. This new AUDIO PHYSIC technology eliminates the need for a classic bass reflex tube and its disadvantages, especially in compact sound converters, such as audible midrange components. Thanks to this sound guidance in conjunction with the sophisticated multi-layer construction of the housing, significantly fewer unwanted sound components escape to the outside.

If this already brings clear sound advantages with the standard version of the CLASSIC Compact, these are even more noticeable in the optional glass versions. Here, an outer glass jacket additionally stiffens the body. However, thanks to the sandwich construction of the housing walls, the converters in the CLASSIC line do not suffer from the dreaded ringing effects.

The mid-woofer and tweeter form a graceful unit with the front panels. The loudspeakers each come with two covers; one with an acoustically neutral covering and one without a fabric cover, which gives a clear view of the chassis.

The ingenious membrane shape of the tweeter ensures a particularly wide amplitude range that goes beyond the audible limit. The star-shaped acoustic lens reduces early reflections that can lead to a rough sound pattern. Thanks to the large 30 millimeter fabric membrane, an optimal transition area to the lower frequencies is achieved. The tweeter also has a powerful drive and is equipped with several internal chambers. This prevents compression effects that could impair the sound.

As in the two standing models, AUDIO PHYSIC equips the CLASSIC Compact with the innovative WBT pole terminals of the nextgen® series as standard. In contrast to conventional clamps, the nextgen® connectors have neither mass storage nor eddy current effects. When using cable lugs, a smart torque indicator reliably indicates when sufficient contact pressure has been reached. These binding posts ensure permanent, perfect contact with the CLASSIC compact loudspeakers, which, with all their innovative ingredients, stand for the highest level of sound culture in the compact class.

Like all high-quality compact speakers, the CLASSIC Compact unfold their full sound potential on a stable base. With the SHERPA II, AUDIO PHYSIC offers excellently crafted loudspeaker stands that form a perfect liaison with the CLASSIC Compact in terms of sound and appearance.

The CLASSIC Compact are also suitable for use in a high-quality surround system as main and/or rear loudspeakers - depending on the size of the room. Together with the CLASSIC center and the LUNA subwoofer, a perfectly coordinated multi-channel set is created.

Features: Sandwich body construction

With our unique sandwich construction, we have found an innovative way to prevent the loudspeaker housing from having an acoustic life of its own. The advantages of this construction are particularly noticeable in our loudspeakers with glass surfaces.

2½-way principle

With the 2½-way speaker, a 2-way speaker is supplemented by an additional woofer that works in the range up to approx. 500 Hz parallel to the low-midrange chassis.
