Authentic Dali sound

DALI's IO headphones are engineered in Denmark and are sonically tuned to the same standards you've come to expect from other DALI products. This makes our headphones truly unique! A custom-built driver with a particularly large 50 mm paper fiber diaphragm produces a remarkably natural and transparent sound with minimal distortion and coloration.

Excellent wearing comfort

The ear cushions on the DALI IO headphones are made of memory foam that precisely adapts to your head, ensuring a comfortable fit without pressure and optimally blocking out outside noise. The cushions are covered in soft synthetic leather, which not only feels extremely comfortable but will also provide reliable service for many years.

Long battery life

The IO-6 offers a benchmark battery life of 30 hours, allowing for days of use without recharging. And if the battery does run out, the headphones can be easily operated in passive 'off' mode using the included jack cable – or recharged to 100% in two hours via a USB-C port.

Versatile connections

For wireless operation, DALI's IO headphones support Bluetooth aptX, aptX HD, and Apple's AAC. The USB-C port for digital audio streaming from Windows or Mac computers enables the best playback quality. If the battery is empty or Bluetooth isn't desired, the IOs can also be controlled via a traditional analog mini-jack socket.

Description

After 35 years in the loudspeaker business, DALI's first wireless over-ear headphones made their debut at IFA 2019 in Berlin. The difference between the IO-4 and IO-6 models is that the IO-6 also features integrated active noise cancellation.

The IO-6 can be controlled via Bluetooth ® 5.0 on smartphones, tablets, PCs, or TVs and also supports the high-resolution codecs aptX ® HD and AAC. The latter is required for optimal sound quality with all Apple devices.

Drivers with 50 mm paper fiber membranes and optimized neodymium magnet systems ensure the typical DALI sound with low distortion, minimal coloration and pronounced fine dynamics.

The headphones' main functions are controlled by three buttons: The DALI logo on the right earcup acts as a multifunction button for play, pause, skip forward/backward, answering/hanging up calls, and volume adjustment. The volume is adjusted by lightly pressing the upper or lower part of the ring surrounding the logo. "Clear Voice Communication" (CVC) ensures optimal voice quality during calls made using the headphones' hands-free function, while the soft ear cushions completely enclose the ears and effectively isolate ambient noise.

To enjoy music or audiobooks completely undisturbed on the train or plane, the DALI IO-6 features exceptionally effective electronic noise cancellation (ANC). Instead of being completely isolated, you can also select a "Transparency" mode, which allows a certain amount of outside noise to pass through.

The IO-6 headphones have a battery life of up to 30 hours with noise cancellation enabled. Of course, the headphones can also be used without battery support using the included cable if needed.

Noise cancellation

The DALI IO-6 is a closed-back headphone that provides a high degree of ambient noise isolation simply by placing the ear cushions on the ear. However, since this approach doesn't completely block out low-frequency noise, the DALI IO-6 is equipped with state-of-the-art active noise cancellation (ANC).

Three different ANC modes can be selected via a button on the right earcup: ANC on, ANC off and a transparency mode.

With active noise cancellation switched on, the IO-6 actively minimizes low-frequency noises such as those found in airplanes, trains, or buses.

If ANC is deactivated, ambient noise is only passively blocked out by the ear cushions.

In Transparency mode, the headphones allow a certain amount of ambient noise to pass through and blend it into the audio signal. This allows you to clearly hear announcements on the train platform, conversations, or other ambient noise while wearing the headphones.

When listening with active noise cancellation, you're not only completely isolated from distracting ambient noise, but you also hear music in a much more relaxed and detailed way. You can also reduce the playback volume, which reduces the potential for long-term hearing damage. Whether at home or on the go, DALI's IO-6 takes you to a whole new dimension of music listening.

Comfort & Design

The stylish DALI IO-6 headphones are ergonomically designed to fit comfortably and securely on any head. The ear cushions are made of memory foam that naturally conforms to the shape of your head, not only keeping the headphones perfectly in place but also acoustically isolating them from the outside world to ensure consistent acoustic conditions.

When developing the DALI IO-6, the goal was to keep the weight as low as possible so that the headphones could be worn comfortably for extended periods. Every single component was carefully selected for its weight without compromising on quality or durability.

To ensure the headphones can be used not only at home on the sofa but also withstand all the challenges of mobile life, they are protected against dust and splash water according to IP53 certification. And since the ear cups can be rotated 90 degrees in either direction, the headphones can be folded flat for compact storage or conveniently hung around the neck.
