The AVM Evolution CS 5.3 Black Edition is the exclusive development of the popular all-in-one CD receiver. With revised tube technology, optimized signal paths, and high-quality components, it ensures an even more precise, spatial, and emotional music playback.
Do you not want to acquire a new AVM device because you are completely satisfied with your existing components? Then the Black Edition Upgrade is just the right thing for you. It allows selected AVM components to be brought up to the technical level of the current Black Edition, thereby benefiting from the latest technological developments.
Technology Package for Retrofitting
With the AVM Black Edition Upgrade, selected AVM components receive a comprehensive technical enhancement. Your existing device will be equipped with the latest Black Edition technologies and brought up to the current state of development—without you having to part with your familiar component. This improvement is implemented directly in the AVM manufactory and will take about 2-3 weeks.
What does the upgrade include? At a glance:
The new Black Edition tube module, an optimized power supply, and other exclusive enhancements will be integrated. The appearance of your device remains almost unchanged—the discreet engraving "Black Edition" on the housing cover indicates the upgrade. On request, custom color and surface finishes are also possible.

At the heart of the technical enhancement is the newly developed Black Edition tube module. It gives music playback even more expressiveness, depth, and emotional intensity. In combination with the expanded power supply and numerous detail optimizations, it creates a sound experience of impressive authenticity, dynamics, and naturalness.
Other improvements include the AVM rhodium speaker terminals developed exclusively for the Evolution Black Edition. They ensure a permanently stable and particularly high-quality connection to the speakers. This is complemented by optimized silver cabling that transmits even the finest musical information with extraordinary openness and precision. Newly selected capacitors additionally provide more calm, control, and an even more effortless music playback experience. The result is an enhancement that not only convinces technically but also makes the music noticeably more intense to experience.
Which AVM components can be upgraded?
The upgrade is available for the Evolution Line models CS, AS, PAS, and MP of the .3 generation from all production years. Devices of the 5.3 series with tube module receive the complete Black Edition equipment. Models of the 3.3 generation will simultaneously be brought up to the technical standard of the current 5.3 generation as part of the upgrade. This means your CS 3.3 can be easily and inexpensively upgraded to a CS 5.3 Black Edition. By the way, the Black Edition Upgrade is also available for the .3 generations of the Ovation Line models.
