The AVM Evolution CS 5.3 Black Edition is the exclusive further development of the popular all-in-one CD receiver. With improved tube technology, optimized signal paths, and high-quality components, it provides an even more precise, spatial, and emotional music playback experience.
You don't want to purchase a new AVM device because you are fully satisfied with your existing components? Then the Black Edition Upgrade is just right for you. It allows selected AVM components to be upgraded to the technological standard of the current Black Edition, thus benefiting from the latest technological developments.
Technology Package for Retrofitting
With the AVM Black Edition Upgrade, selected AVM components receive a comprehensive technical refinement. Your existing device will be equipped with the latest Black Edition technologies and brought up to the current development status – without having to part with your familiar component. This improvement will be implemented directly in the AVM factory and will take approximately 2-3 weeks.
What does the upgrade include? At a glance:
The new Black Edition tube module, an optimized power supply, and other exclusive refinements will be integrated. The appearance of your device remains almost unchanged – only the discreet engraving "Black Edition" on the case top indicates the upgrade. Additionally, custom color and surface finishes can be realized upon request.

The centerpiece of the technical refinement is the newly developed Black Edition tube module. It adds even more expressiveness, depth, and emotional intensity to the music playback. In combination with the enhanced power supply and numerous detail optimizations, an impressive sound experience of authenticity, dynamics, and naturalness is created.
Other improvements include the AVM rhodium speaker terminals developed exclusively for the Evolution Black Edition. They ensure a permanently stable and particularly high-quality connection to the speakers. This is complemented by optimized silver wiring, which transmits even the finest musical information with exceptional openness and precision. Newly selected capacitors additionally provide more calmness, control, and an even more natural music playback. The result is a refinement that not only technically convinces but also makes music noticeably more intense and enjoyable.
Which AVM components can be upgraded?
The upgrade is available for the Evolution Line models CS, AS, PAS, and MP of the .3 generation from all production years. Devices of the 5.3 series with tube module will receive the complete Black Edition equipment. Models of the 3.3 generation will simultaneously be upgraded to the technical standard of the current 5.3 generation during the upgrade process. This means that your CS 3.3 can be simply and affordably upgraded to a CS 5.3 Black Edition through the upgrade. The Black Edition Upgrade is also available for the .3 generations of the Ovation Line models.
