The Aria returns to the true core of the sound. The Flax cone, originally made of flax fibers, promises a significant improvement in terms of resolution and intelligibility: a very natural, genuine sound with a colorful reproduction of the mid-range and a clear bass. Classic style and modernity merge in the design of the floorstanding speaker.
All with the aim of returning, for the music enthusiast, to the essence of acoustics itself: strength of character in a top-of-the-line hi-fi speaker that is still affordable.
It is the last speaker in the Aria series, recommended for rooms from 30 m² and a listening distance of 3.5 m. The Aria is ideal for a living room or for a home cinema system.
Poron surround for silky smooth highs
For the TNF tweeter, Focal has made two major innovations to the aluminium-magnesium tweeter. A shape memory material - poron - is used for the bead connecting the calotte with the outer rim.
This type of surround is taken directly from the proven Utopia beryllium tweeter and reduces distortion between 2000 Hz and 3000 Hz - the frequency range to which the ear is particularly sensitive - by a factor of 3.
The wide dispersion of the inverted dome has been optimized so that the highs are perceived as silky-smooth, regardless of the listening position in the room.
The Flax membrane is extremely original
This flax cone has been manufactured exclusively in France by Focal since 2013. With its original design, it is fully focused on acoustic performance. It is a sandwich membrane with a core made of flax fibers, which is surrounded by two layers of glass fiber foil. The flax fiber produces a very natural, unadulterated sound with enormous midrange reproduction and clear bass.
Their lightness offers good dynamics and their stability ensures rich bass and good damping for a neutral and natural listening experience. Since flax fibers are hollow fibres, they weigh only half as much as glass fibres. Thanks to the very high tensile strength, they are ideal for increasing the flexural strength modulus of a sandwich structure.
