The AV7706 is designed for use with high quality external power amplifiers such as the Marantz MM8077, MM7055 and MM7025. It has 11.2-channel XLR and RCA preamp outputs respectively. It is not only an excellent AV processor, but also an exceptional analogue preamplifier with a specially developed analogue audio circuit including Marantz HDAM technology. This preamp unit provides optimal channel separation, minimal crosstalk, and signal-to-noise ratio for precisely detailed resolution and stereo presentation. The power supply for the analog section uses audiophile ELNA capacitors for excellent performance and dynamics. The incomparable sound of Marantz is guaranteed by the perfect interaction of high-quality technologies.

The video processor is able to upscale native video sources up to 8K quality. Listen to audio wirelessly through Bluetooth headphones and turn off the main speakers to avoid disturbing anyone around you. Multiple sources, multiple spaces

Watch a movie in one room while another family member listens to a song on Spotify non-stop in another zone. Enjoy 11.2 channel surround sound in the main room and a separate source or stream music in up to two other zones. Connect a separate stereo amplifier and speakers to the preamp outputs for the second and third zones.

TV audio in all zones

Play main zone TV audio in the second zone without sacrificing fully discrete multi-channel playback in the main zone. In the AVR Remote app, select 'Source' for the second zone so that the main zone audio is not switched to stereo PCM.

Smart TV integration

The AV7706 can also be controlled with the TV remote control via the HDMI-CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) function of some smart TVs. Enable the “HDMI Control” function on the preamplifier and configure the control functions under “Smart Menu”. You can then access Sources and Surround modes, the Preamp Setup menu and Smart Select presets directly from your TV's 'Smart Menu' home screen.

Marantz AVR Remote App

With the Marantz AVR Remote app for smartphones and tablets with iOS and Android, you have extensive control options when operating the latest generation of network-capable Marantz AV receivers and preamplifiers. Control the basic functions of your Marantz product such as power, volume control, inputs and settings or switch directly to the HEOS App to control your online music.

Useful Smart Select functions

Four Smart Select buttons on the included remote control allow you to save your favorite or frequently used settings and change them as needed - including input source, volume level, sound mode, Audyssey configuration and even the 'All Zone Stereo' setting for party mode. With the push of a button, the preamp is instantly configured to your desired setting.

Easy setup

The included Quick Start Guide provides simple, clear instructions to get you started. As soon as you connect your TV to the AV7706 via HDMI, the Marantz installation wizard will appear on screen to guide you through the setup. The setup wizard helps you with important settings for the best possible sound quality, regardless of your configuration. The AV7706 automatically names the HDMI inputs when a source is connected. You can also name the HDMI inputs yourself as you wish.

Advanced Audyssey MultEQ XT32

The AV7706 features the Audyssey Platinum suite of powerful DSP algorithms, including Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room acoustic correction. Using the included measurement microphone, MultEQ XT32 analyzes the playback characteristics of each speaker (including the subwoofer) at up to 8 measurement points and creates precise digital filters that determine appropriate frequency response and timing settings for each channel. Audyssey Dynamic Volume corrects disruptive jumps in volume that occur, for example, during commercial breaks on television. Even at low volumes, you can hear dialogue, music and noise clearly. Audyssey Dynamic EQ ensures precise sound tuning and maximum clarity at all volume levels. Audyssey Low Frequency Containment (LFC) uses powerful psychoacoustic algorithms to balance the sound across the frequency range. Audyssey LFC prevents bass waves from penetrating walls and disturbing neighbors without affecting the bass experience in the listening room. Audyssey Sub EQ HT allows for individual DSP tuning of each subwoofer in dual subwoofer configurations. This allows for deeper and more defined bass compared to single subwoofer configurations. With the Audyssey MultEQ Editor app, you can go one step further and check and adjust the settings that are made via the automatic measurement. This allows performance to be fine-tuned to solve any specific problem in the room and tailor the surround experience to your personal preferences.

External control options

The AV7706 can be controlled remotely and over IP, making it easy to customize and integrate with third-party integration solutions. It can be operated over the network by controllers from well-known vendors and offers Control4 SDDP (Simple Device Detection Protocol) for a seamless connection with Control4 home automation. On the back there is an IR input and output for connection to an active external commercially available remote control receiver. Other Marantz devices, such as CD players, can then also be looped into the remote control chain and controlled.
