Thanks to discrete high-current amplifiers on all channels, the AVR-X1700H delivers an impressive 145 watts per channel. It can be used with a wide range of loudspeakers (also with low impedance) and convinces with a pleasant, balanced sound.

DTS:X gives your movies, games and songs a true-to-life authenticity that conventional 5.1 surround sound can only dream of. Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization Technology and DTS Virtual:X offer a three-dimensional listening experience even for users without dedicated height speakers by automatically adding virtual height effects in 7.1, 5.1 and 2.1 speaker configurations.

Advanced 8K HDMI video section to support different HDR formats

For the best possible picture quality, the AVR-X1700H is equipped with an advanced HDMI section (6 in, 1 out) with three 8K inputs supporting 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video passthrough at 40 Gbps. All HDMI inputs offer full 4:4:4 color resolution, HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG), Dynamic HDR as well as 3D and BT.2020 passthrough for outstanding picture quality. In addition, the device delivers 8K upscaling and, thanks to HDCP 2.3 processing, also plays copy-protected content without restriction.

Multi-room streaming via HEOS® Built-in

The integrated HEOS® technology makes it possible to listen to your favorite music wirelessly in every room. You can play the same audio file everywhere, or choose a different song for each HEOS-connected room. It also supports Amazon Alexa and Apple Siri so you can control all your home entertainment with the latest voice control features. Simply connect your Denon Home speakers for a connected audio experience throughout your home. HEOS also supports free and paid streaming services such as Spotify, Amazon Music HD, TuneIn, SoundCloud and TIDAL. (Music service availability may vary by region).

Easy setup and automatic HDMI renaming

The included Quick Start Guide makes getting started with the AVRX1700H a breeze. As soon as you connect your TV to the AVR-X1700H with an HDMI cable, the exclusive Denon installation wizard will appear on the TV screen to guide you through the setup process step-by-step. The rear of the AV receiver features horizontally-arranged, color-coded speaker terminals for easy connection and cable organization. The AVR-X1700H automatically renames the HDMI inputs when a source is connected. Manual renaming is also possible.

Audyssey room acoustics correction system

Using the Audyssey MultEQ XT room correction system and the supplied measurement microphone, the AVR-X1700H precisely analyzes the sound of each speaker to optimize each channel. The paid Audyssey MultEQ Editor app also offers experienced users the opportunity to take a look “under the hood” and further customize their audio environment. The app is available for both Android and iOS.

Apple AirPlay 2 Built-in

With AirPlay 2 you can wirelessly stream songs from Apple Music to your AV Receiver. In addition, the device can be paired with other AirPlay-compatible speakers for listening to music throughout the house.

Brilliant colors, universal compatibility, HDR10+ and Dynamic HDR

The AVR-X1700H supports the HDR video formats HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma). Dolby Vision turns television into an experience with amazing brightness and impressive colors and contrasts. HLG provides a sharper and clearer image with HDR technology. In addition, the AVR-X1700H also supports Dynamic HDR and HDR10+, which transmits dynamic metadata to the TV for more realistic images. (Some technologies are not available on all TVs.)

HDMI eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) support

The main HDMI output of the AVR-X1700H supports eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel). This allows uncompressed, object-based audio data to be transmitted directly from smart TV apps to the AV receiver.

TV sound in all zones

The device gives you the option of playing the TV sound in all zones. Enjoy immersive entertainment experiences with fully discrete audio in the main zone and play the same source in zone 2. The AVR-X1700H supports both HDMI and digital sources for Zone 2 when set to Source.
