A noble case made of Jarrah wood (an eucalyptus from Australia) adorns the new Grado Platinum 3 and Sonata 3 pickups. The wood native to Australia is a full 25 percent harder than oak and gives the pickups exactly the damping properties that Grado has for its noble Wood -Models needs. The weight of the tip of the needle carrier has been reduced by ten percent compared to the Prestige series. This enables fine dynamics that are otherwise not known from these price ranges. The natural sound of the pickups and especially the authentic voice reproduction are at a level that makes playing records an emotional experience. The diamonds designed by Grado certainly make a decisive contribution to this. While an elliptical diamond sits on the four-part needle carrier of the Platinum 3, the Sonata 3 has an elliptical cut.
