The ROTATION R 30.3 at a glance

The AVM R 30.3 is the youngest member of the AVM record player family and offers a perfect analogue addition to the AVM 30 device line, which was introduced as part of the 30th anniversary of the AVM company. The AVM typical design language has been elegantly incorporated and so the device is suitable not only as a supplement to existing AVM systems but also as an introduction to the AVM analogue world.

The top model, the ROTATION R 5.3, sets numerous technical and innovative accents in terms of the drive. One example is the complex Elipso-Centric belt drive. It achieves a completely unloaded turntable axis with a tilting moment of 0.0. Not only the spring-loaded drive, but especially the 10'' tonearm developed by AVM made of highly polished aluminum components are sonic, technological and aesthetic delicacies of the R 5.3.

The R 2.3 was released at the same time as the R 5.3. This served as a direct source of ideas for the development of the new AVM R 30.3. Based on the design features of the R 2.3, the R 30.3 borrows several clear features from it. The highlight of the R 30.3 is the identically adopted 9'' tonearm with its sophisticated detail solutions. This tonearm is a completely proprietary AVM design. It effortlessly supports all known pickup systems on the world market. It is also possible to mount the company's own, high-quality AVM Cadenza pickups, showing the full potential of the tonearm.

The stable, ultra low mass tonearm is based on a solid, refined aluminum tube. In combination with the stable and precise tonearm bearing, it provides the basis for a powerful sound. The silicone-damped counterweight effectively prevents micro-vibrations from being reflected back in the direction of the tonearm and the scanning system, thus guaranteeing a pure, clearly defined sound.

All Rotation turntable models have the frames made of heavy composite material (in different thicknesses) in common. These frames are made of cement-powdered HDF, glued to hand-ground anodized aluminum parts, which provides additional stiffening. The use of the different materials creates a vibration-damping sandwich structure that offers an almost completely resonance-free, solid base for the matte and internally illuminated acrylic turntable. The precise upside-down bearings are further precision parts that are primarily responsible for the remarkably smooth running of the R 30.3. An intelligent, fully electronic look-forward servo control allows the turntable to rotate precisely and constantly.
