Audiophile design at an affordable entry level

Mounted MM cartridge Ortofon OM 5E and integrated phono preamplifier.

The Pro-Ject T1 is an entry-level turntable that sets sound standards. No plastic, no frills. pure music! The T1 from Pro-Ject Audio Systems is the first turntable in the T line that already delivers real hi-fi sound quality for little money. It shines with high-quality materials, a stylish look and an incredibly lively sound. During the extensive development process, the Pro-Ject engineers have meticulously ensured that they do not make any compromises in terms of sound quality despite the low price.

The CNC-milled chassis, available in high-gloss black, matt white & satin-finish walnut, is manufactured entirely without cavities, so that no unwanted vibrations can occur in the chassis. The turntable, which is driven by a belt, is made of safety glass and is entirely in keeping with this philosophy. In contrast to plastic or light steel turntables, unwanted resonances are effectively suppressed.

The T1 tonearm is a new development based on proven Pro-Ject designs. The 8.6" long tonearm consists of a single piece of aluminum and is equipped with low-friction bearings, so that the scanning is always carried out with high precision. The mounted Ortofon OM 5E pickup with elliptical stylus cut makes this turntable an uncompromising hi-fi playback device.

In addition, the T1 does not – as is often the case – only come with simple RCA/cinch cables. The scope of delivery includes excellently shielded, quasi-symmetrical, low-capacity phono cables, which were specially designed by Pro-Ject for connecting turntables. Also included in the package is a dust cover for extra protection of the T1 and a felt mat that acts as a soft surface for your records.

The integrated phono preamplifier allows connection to a high-level input of the amplifier. Alternatively, the connection can also be made to an external phono preamplifier or one integrated in the amplifier.
The electronic speed switch between 33 and 45 rpm spoils if you often switch between LP and single speed.

The player's counterweight and pickup are fitted at the factory. No settings or adjustments need to be made. After removing the transport lock, putting on the belt and removing the needle guard, the record player is immediately ready to play.

The T1 is the new shooting star among the more affordable turntables. The production in Europe takes place in a factory with decades of tradition in turntable production. This is exactly what makes the T1 a real hi-fi turntable that impresses in terms of sound and appearance.
