With the new generation of CARDEAS, precisely this step has been achieved: a loudspeaker based on four decades of research and simultaneously completely reimagined – both sonically and technologically.

The foundation of the new CARDEAS is the further developed multi-sandwich cabinet. Its asymmetrical design reduces resonances and simultaneously gives the loudspeaker a striking, timeless aesthetic. The core consists of high-strength honeycomb panels combined with plywood. This is complemented by an outer shell made of glass-elastomer composite material. The result: extreme rigidity, maximum internal damping, and thus complete sonic tranquility. Unwanted cabinet resonances are consistently eliminated – a foundation that enables unadulterated sound.

New generation chassis

At the heart of this further development are the completely redesigned chassis. The tweeter, midrange driver, and the two mid-bass drivers have been equipped with a newly developed diaphragm material: a special carbon matrix fabric (RECOTec). This combines extreme rigidity with high internal damping and ensures a level of precision, dynamics, and transparency that was previously unattainable.

The HHCT III+ tweeter is housed in a separate unit and completely decoupled from the cabinet – a solution that prevents disruptive vibrations and reproduces the finest high-frequency details clearly and without distortion. The HHCM SL midrange drivers and the double surround mid-bass drivers also forgo the conventional spider. Thanks to their virtually resistance-free movement, these drivers achieve a level of dynamics and resolution that is unparalleled in this form.

PowerTrain™ – Energy in Flow

At the heart of the new CARDEAS lies the exclusive Audio Physic PowerTrain™. It transfers the kinetic energy of the drivers with exceptional efficiency. Q-SET – Adaptation to the space

Not every listening room is the same. That's why the new CARDEAS features the innovative Q-SET system. Rear-mounted switches allow you to adjust the damping of the woofers and mid-bass drivers in two stages. This allows the speaker to be specifically tailored to different room situations, such as placement near walls or corners – without noticeably changing the speaker's impedance.

This flexibility is made possible by the use of specially designed dual voice coils, which are unique to date. This gives the CARDEAS an adaptability that is both uncompromising and practical.

Meticulous attention to detail and perfection

The meticulous attention to detail is evident even in the smallest aspects of the development. The tweeter and midrange driver connections have been completely redesigned and equipped with high-quality WBT plasma contacts. The terminal itself has been reworked with improved WBT nextgen™ binding posts. Even the capacitors were finalized after extensive listening sessions and feature an innovative copper foam contact.

All these measures pursue one goal: the ultimate sound. Because for Audio Physic, it has always been the principle that if the sound isn't completely convincing, there must always be a better solution.
