We take sound enthusiasm seriously

Since Nordost was founded, we have accumulated a wealth of unique knowledge that allows us to design and manufacture truly great cables. Nordost has been deeply committed to research and development for many years. To complement our own research and development, we partner with independent contractors. Several years ago, we undertook an extensive project with Acuity, a UK signal research facility, to measure and validate the sound improvements that music listeners describe with certain cables. The results of this research have yielded new technologies such as the HOLO:PLUGÖ connectors.

The Valhalla 2 speaker cable

The Valhalla 2 reference speaker cable consists of 28 conductors divided into four groups. Each solid-core conductor is made of oxygen-free pure copper and coated with an 85-micron-thick silver layer. A dual-mono filament cover is helically wound around each conductor before an FEP sleeve is extruded over it. The cable transmits signals extremely fast, at over 96% the speed of light. Valhalla 2 embodies state of the art technology, transmitting even very broadband signals with minimal phase shifts. Valhalla 2 speaker cable allows extremely fast signal transients and has fantastic dynamic resolution, preserving the full depth of musical detail and allowing complex recordings to be followed effortlessly. It is assembled with gold-plated HOLO:PLUGÖ clevises or low-mass Nordost-Z plugs.
