Maple meets hemp
A family favorite, the RS2x has been completely redesigned to exploit the full potential of its maple and hemp wood. The sleeve and ring of the case are made of maple wood, while a hemp core holds everything together. We build with wood because of its warm and embracing sonic properties, and the RS2x is an exceptional advancement of the RS2 line.

The driver and enclosure work together to respond to acoustic vibrations and virtually eliminate transient distortion. With its harmonious colors and a world-famous midrange, the RS2x will immediately cast a spell over you. The sound that the woods produce in connection with our special processes is full-bodied and has a powerful voice.

X series drivers
The 4th generation X drivers are here. Specially tailored to the RS2x wooden housing, this new loudspeaker design has a more powerful magnetic circuit, a voice coil with a lower effective mass and a newly configured membrane. The redesign of these components for our 44mm drivers improves efficiency, reduces distortion, and preserves the harmonic integrity of your music.
A little extra.
New cables and headband
Along with the speakers, the cables and headband for the RS2x have also been redesigned. The 8-core cable made of super-annealed copper is now even more resilient and reproduces even more of your music, with even greater purity. The new black leather headband has a white stitched accent.

Handcrafted in Brooklyn
Our first wooden headphones were built by John Grado in the middle of the night in 1994. Since then, wood has been an integral part of our workbench. Each RS2x headphone is handcrafted by our team in Brooklyn - these headphones wander from workbench to workbench until they're ready for your ears. We started building on a kitchen table in 1953 and every experience since has led to the RS2x.
