Featuring a new material and a design dedicated to sound, this loudspeaker is a direct product of our engineers' vision. Focal offers a combination of exclusive, entirely new technologies: the blend of beryllium for the latest generation IAL3 tweeter and flax for the midrange and bass drivers. Material mix - beryllium and flax

For the first time, a loudspeaker with a flax sandwich diaphragm meets a beryllium tweeter! Flax contributes to the perfect blend of low mass, rigidity, and damping, resulting in the desired outcome: clear, precise sound. This unique combination of flax and beryllium lends the music incredible warmth and purity. The patented flax diaphragm, manufactured in France, has already proven its worth in Focal loudspeakers for homes and vehicles. The midrange driver again utilizes the TMD (Tuned Mass Damping) surround, and all Kanta loudspeakers are equipped with a NIC (Neutral Inductance Circuit) drive, which stabilizes the magnetic field for a clearly defined sound and better-controlled bass.

Artisan joinery - high-density polymer

Everything is designed for a warm yet clear sound: from the density and rigidity of the front panel materials to the cabinet design, the soft edges, and the two bass reflex ports. A new acoustically optimized material was used for the front panel. The speaker is constructed from a single piece of high-density polymer (HDP). This material boasts exceptional properties: it is 70% denser than MDF, 15% stronger, and offers 25% more internal damping. Thanks to the single-piece front panel, diffraction is eliminated. The Kanta features Power Flow technology with two bass reflex ports—one on the front and one on the rear—to reduce compression in the low frequencies.

New tweeter - Distortion is the enemy

Focal research is focused on reducing distortion – the enemy of emotion in music – across all frequency ranges. In the Kanta, high frequencies are reproduced by an all-new tweeter made of pure beryllium. This IAL 3 tweeter combines the characteristics of an IAL (Infinite Acoustic Loading) and an IHL (Infinite Horn Loading) tweeter, both of which promote wave absorption to lower the tweeter's resonant frequency.

Stylish - that's all...

The engineers have refined the 'Focus-Time' design, which ensures optimal speaker alignment so that the speakers are equidistant from the listener. The rear grille is crafted from a single piece of molded plywood. The Zamak stand further enhances the speaker's character. Thanks to the spikes and pads, the stand provides exceptional stability despite minimal contact with the floor. Final touches include the top glass cover and the magnetic grille attachment. Removing the grilles reveals the flax diaphragms, adding a distinctive touch to the design and giving the Kanta its unique appearance!

Designs - trendy or classic

To ensure there's something to suit every interior design style, numerous combinations are possible. The rear cabinet is available in high-gloss black and walnut veneer. For each of these finishes, a front panel is available in four different colors, each in two versions. For the high-gloss rear cabinet: four fronts – Carrara White, Gauloise Blue, Solar Yellow, and Black Lacquer in a high-gloss finish. For the walnut veneer rear cabinet: four fronts – Ivory, Warm Taupe, Gauloise Blue, and Dark Grey in a matte finish.
