If you thought you couldn't improve on a legend, Grado proves the opposite with its SR225x model. Accordingly, the "x" in the model designation stands for the latest generation with noticeably modified membranes, more powerful voice coils and a technically optimized power cable. The gain that has been taken to the extreme is fascinating. After all, the original SR225 was considered the benchmark in its class and a reference in terms of sound. Thanks to the use of completely new drivers with voice coils made of high-purity, long-crystal copper, the classic, which is well known to music lovers, is presented at its highest level to date. The openings of the air grille made of finely braced metal, which are 50% larger than their smaller brother, also make a significant contribution to this impressive sound experience. With a deviation of only 0.05dB, the two driver chassis of the Grado SR225x are selected extremely closely. As a result, even spoiled listeners notice the increased three-dimensionality and the realistic sound character. Rarely does a technical product become a timeless classic and a modern innovator at the same time. The Grado SR225x manages this balancing act and is rightly one of the best of its kind.
