Calling the H390 'Robin Hood' may seem bold. It's not a bargain and it's not being given away to the poor. But it represents a rebellion against the establishment. The H390 offers exceptional resolution and musical quality usually found only in the most exclusive products - but at a reasonable price.
User-friendliness and quality combined
The H390 is a rebellion against the established system that often forces users into a certain user interface. With the H390, Hegel is committed to helping mainstream sources sound their best. This means that the H390 is not just for audiophiles, but a product that the whole family can enjoy.
The SoundEngine 2 amplifier section
At the heart of the H390 is Hegel's patented SoundEngine 2. This works similarly to a pair of noise-cancelling headphones. A computer inside samples what goes into the amplifier and compares it with what comes out. The difference (distortion) is subtracted and added to the music in reverse phase. The result is a nearly flawless sound with no time delay - the most musical and natural sound you can experience.
Bit-perfect D/A converter
The digital technology in the H390 is unique. Hegel develops both the analog and digital sections in-house. The music signal remains unchanged and untouched regardless of the signal type or input - a 'bit-perfect' D/A converter. Digital clocks follow the sampling frequency of the music and clock down when a low-resolution file is received. The result is a more natural and 'analog' sound, as well as an impressive soundstage and realism.
Comprehensive streaming options
The H390 offers Apple Airplay and UPnP streaming, as well as free updates to services such as Spotify Connect, IP Control and Control4. It supports most audio formats, including DSD and MQA. All inputs are configurable for volume bypass, making it easy to integrate into home theater setups or with multi-room systems such as Bluesound or Sonos. The H390 is versatile and offers almost unlimited possibilities.
Carefully developed complete product
Great care was taken at every step of the design - from selecting and matching components to using the best measuring equipment and Hegel's own ears. Virtually anything you want to connect can be connected to the H390.
