The McIntosh MC1502 AC is a 2x 150 watt tube power amp with striking
beautiful, iconic design. As the direct successor to the 70-year-old McIntosh
Anniversary MC2152 Limited Edition, it has identical specifications and sublime sound performance.
It shares the timeless design of the classic MC275 tube power amplifier, but with 150 watts has twice the output power and can be seen as the big brother of the MC275 in many ways, including its physical presence.
By using the tried and tested products used since the company was founded
Autoformer technology, the full 2x 150 watts can be delivered to almost any speaker, regardless of whether they have an impedance of 2, 4 or 8 ohms.
Eight are used! KT88 power tubes and four driver tubes of each type
12AX7A/12AT7. Purists will present the tube area openly,
Safety-conscious people can cover this with the included powder-coated protective cage.
Unique McIntosh features include Sentry Monitor™ technology. This monitors the output current and turns off the amplifier as soon as safety limits are exceeded. Super-solid Solid Cinch™ speaker connections give the cables the best possible hold and transmit the output signal without loss.
The MC1502 AC tube power amp is a perfect match for the C22 Mk V AC tube preamp.
