T + AP 3000 HV

The P 3000 HV is the audiophile high-end preamplifier and the universal control center for the individual HV components. It is equipped with unique, newly developed technologies and circuit concepts. The measured values, the technical data and the sound properties represent the limit of what is physically feasible. The components and materials used are uncompromisingly first-class, and the processing of the housing sets standards that even much more expensive devices cannot achieve.
In the ingenious HV = High Voltage concept developed by T + A, all amplifier stages work with significantly higher operating voltages than is normally the case: 100 volts in the preamplifier and 360 volts in the output stages. As with tube amplifiers, the actual level of all stages remains very small. Only a very small section of the characteristic curve of the amplifier transistors is used (less than 20%), so that their characteristic curve curvature (non-linearity) is practically eliminated. In addition, other measures are used to linearize the voltage amplifier stages, such as cross-coupled differential amplifier cascodes or improved 'Hawksford' cascodes with double J-FET control transistor. In addition to high linearity, the high operating voltages also achieve an extremely high dynamic range. We have developed this unique technology for all devices, because the resulting sound improvements are not only enormous in preamplifiers and power amplifiers, but of course also in the output stages of source devices such as the Multi Source Player MP 3000 HV.

The rear connection panel impressively shows the uncompromisingly symmetrical, double mono construction of the P 3000 HV. Both symmetrical and asymmetrical sockets are available as outputs. There are four symmetrical inputs, which can optionally be switched to asymmetrical connections, as well as two further asymmetrical inputs and a recorder connection. Input No. 4 can also be operated in surround mode (pass-through) in order to use connected power amplifiers for the front channels of a surround decoder. The analog and digital power packs are completely separate and even have separate power sockets! HV-Link (HV data bus), LAN connection, trigger input, RC-In for E 2000 and a ground terminal are also available.

The P 3000 HV is equipped with a high-quality headphone amplifier with double current delivery capability and is supplied with the all-metal infrared remote control F 3001.

In daily practice there are very often problems with the room acoustics or the placement of the loudspeakers. We have therefore developed an analog signal processor module that not only offers channel-separated tone control and loudness functions, but also has three parametric equalizers that can effectively attenuate room resonances in the range from 20 Hz to 500 Hz. This enables optimal sound results to be achieved even in difficult rooms. Of course, the functions can be bridged completely by relays.

On request, the P 3000 HV can also be equipped with high-end phono preamplifier modules that have different circuit topologies for MM or MC systems.
