The Cambridge L/R X is a fully active streaming stereo system that combines the acoustic authority and dynamics of large floor speakers in compact enclosures. Equipped with 800 watts total system power, precise room optimization, and full connectivity, the L/R X offers uncompromised audio performance – without additional amplifiers or complex wiring.

Detailed high-frequency reproduction through proprietary drivers

The custom-developed 28mm tweeter combines a dual-radius aluminum dome with a specially calculated waveguide geometry, a phase ring, and a flow-optimized rear chamber. This construction ensures controlled sound radiation and high detail fidelity. 

Precision in the low-frequency range without distortion

For the frequency ranges below, the L/R X relies on a tandem system of front-facing and downward-firing 5-inch woofers. This combination cleansly highlights nuances in the bass foundation while effectively minimizing disturbing distortions. The sound image remains realistic, direct, and unobtrusive – even in complex arrangements.

Signal Processing & Room Adjustment

Unadulterated Signal Processing through 64-Bit DSP

A 64-Bit DSP pipeline processes the audio signal with high computational accuracy. This preserves fine tonal textures and dynamic gradations that are often lost in conventional digital processing. The system reproduces music with its natural dynamics and structure.

Adjustment to Your Room Acoustics

Every room sounds different. Thanks to integrated EQ presets, room optimization tools, and DynamEQ, the L/R X maintains its tonal balance even at varying volume levels. An extended protection circuit also ensures that the drivers operate cleanly and controlled even at high levels.

Connectivity & Variety of Sources

The in-house developed StreamMagic Gen 4 platform provides direct access to streaming services such as Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz, Deezer, and Amazon Music. Furthermore, the system supports Roon Ready, Google Cast, Apple AirPlay 2, UPnP, as well as internet radio.

The Active Concept & Housing Design

The transmission between the speakers occurs in high resolution with 24 Bit / 96 kHz. For environments with strong radio interference, a USB-C connection cable is included, guaranteeing an interference-free signal connection.

Architectural Design & Color Variants

Clear lines, a seemingly floating base, and subtle LED underbody lighting characterize the look of the L/R X. The casing is available in six color variants, including a version in real walnut wood. The design harmoniously blends into modern living environments without masking its acoustic function.
