The ALR Jordan Take 4 is a floorstanding loudspeaker designed and manufactured in Germany by renowned engineer Karl-Heinz Fink. Produced in Essen, it was positioned in the high-end hi-fi segment at the time of its market launch. The loudspeaker was aimed at discerning listeners who value high-quality craftsmanship and balanced sound reproduction.
The system is a 2-way design in a D'Appolito configuration, with two woofers/midrange drivers arranged symmetrically around the tweeter. This design ensures controlled dispersion and precise spatial imaging. A high-quality Scan-Speak dome tweeter, utilizing ferrofluid and known for its fine resolution and pleasing detail reproduction, is used in the high-frequency range. The two woofers/midrange drivers, featuring the characteristic Jordan aluminum cones, contribute to tight, controlled bass reproduction and clear midrange.
With a sensitivity of 89 dB and an impedance of 4 ohms, the Take 4 isn't particularly difficult to drive, but it still benefits from a stable and powerful amplifier. Its frequency response ranges from approximately 35 Hz to 30 kHz, giving it broad coverage in both the bass and treble ranges. Practical features like bi-wiring terminals and a treble level control allow for some adjustment to the room and personal preference.
