Product description
The S 2200 CTL is the top model and is equipped with the largest woofers. It is an example of the basic principle of the CTL series. Each model has two special woofers, a "wide range" midrange chassis and a completely new super tweeter dome made of specially impregnated fabric. The three floorstanding speakers only differ in their housing size and the size of the chassis used.
Technology
The S 2200 CTL is a full-grown, large transmission line floorstanding speaker with a very long line. Two newly developed long-throw woofers with a diameter of 22 cm are perfectly matched to the housing and the natural resonance of the transmission line. Thanks to their extremely low natural resonance, they have an incredibly deep, powerful and precise bass. The impulse response is perfect even at the most extreme levels, without distortion and with full dynamics. This is due to the complex construction of the entire system: hard, embossed membranes, aluminum baskets with narrow bars and very large immersion depth, super magnet and large high-performance voice coil.
The newly developed 15 cm midrange driver and the fabric dome, together with the shaped baffle (organic baffle), form an acoustic unit that we have called CD = Constant Directivity. This is responsible for the ideal radiation behavior and the striking spatiality.
The S 2200 CTL can handle enormous levels effortlessly, but its complex and well thought-out design also makes it ideal for the most sensitive and natural music reproduction.
