The successor to the renowned and award-winning Hi-Fi speaker series, the Q Series has been redesigned and sets new standards, now in its 9th generation since 1991. It features revolutionary Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™) and a range of acoustic innovations derived from the top models of Hi-Fi speakers. These innovations make first-class Hi-Fi sound more accessible than ever before. With the latest 12th generation Uni-Q drivers, optimized using the latest analysis technology, the series offers a variety of solutions for stereo and multi-channel home theater systems. Metamaterial Absorption Technology: Revolution in sound absorption

A core element of the new Q series is Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™), a highly complex, labyrinth-like structure that enables impressive sound absorption performance. This technology absorbs 99% of the unwanted sound emanating from the back of the tweeter. This significantly reduces distortion and ensures a purer and more natural sound reproduction. MAT™ acts like an acoustic "black hole" that swallows up disturbing frequencies and thus significantly improves sound performance. By integrating this technology, the speakers in the Q series sound even more precise and clear.

The superior KEF sound: detailed and true to life

All eight models in the Q series are equipped with the 12th generation Uni-Q drivers, which are supported by MAT™ technology. The Uni-Q driver has been specially redesigned to make the most of the benefits of MAT™. The tweeter is equipped with a newly designed slot damper that efficiently suppresses resonances and improves the clarity of the reproduction. The tweeter's rear chamber opening - increased by 250% - allows more sound to be absorbed, resulting in a significant reduction in distortion. All of these innovations contribute to an impressive sound image that clearly reproduces even the finest musical nuances.

A new 3-way system for improved sound quality

One of the key innovations in the Q series is the expansion from a 2.5-way to a 3-way system. In this new design, the Uni-Q drivers handle the high and mid frequencies, while a newly developed bass driver is responsible for the low frequencies. This separation of the frequency ranges leads to even more precise sound reproduction. In particular, the reduction in the membrane movement of the mid frequencies allows the tweeter to transmit the high-frequency sounds over a more stable surface. This reduces distortion and leads to more detailed and clearer sound reproduction.

Deep and clear bass thanks to innovative technology

The bass response of the Q Series has been improved by a new bass driver design. A hybrid structure of aluminum and paper creates a stiffer diaphragm that allows for more precise and faster movement. The result is powerful, yet controlled bass. In addition, the bass reflex tube has been optimized using computer models to minimize turbulence and reduce unwanted flow noise. This allows the bass to be reproduced cleanly and clearly even at high volumes.

Precise crossover for perfect integration

The Q-Series crossover was optimized based on over 1000 measurements to ensure seamless integration of all loudspeaker components. This meticulous analysis examined every interaction of the loudspeaker components and determined the optimal frequency distribution. This technology, which was first used in the LS50 Meta, has been further refined and ensures that the Q-Series offers a particularly precise and detailed performance.

Shadow Flare: More transparency and clarity

Another highlight of the Q series is the Shadow Flare design, which reduces reflections at the corners of the speaker cabinet. This innovation ensures that the tweeter no longer experiences annoying reflections, thus enabling clearer and more detailed reproduction. The finest sound details, such as the gentle strokes of a jazz brush or the overtones of a piano, are reproduced with remarkable precision.
