When you buy a pair of Focus 10s, you're buying more than just a pair of powered speakers. Streaming is at the forefront. With Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Roon, Bluetooth and local area network capabilities, the Focus 10 can play literally anything stored in digital form, from all your signal sources - whether they're online or local ( e.g. in the form of NAS drives) exist. Hundreds of millions of titles, all accessible with a simple tap on your smartphone or tablet.

Thanks to the built-in WiSA technology, the Focus speakers can even pair wirelessly with a WiSA-compatible TV or USB dongle. Here, too, bulky home cinema electronics and complex cabling can be dispensed with. And this renunciation is your gain, because a modern living room shouldn't look like an electronics warehouse.

And this wireless elegance is incredibly easy to set up and use. The configuration is done in no time. All you need is two sockets and the elegant, intuitive app to set everything up and customize it to your liking. The way from unpacking to audiophile sound enjoyment has never been so short.

A new way of hearing

For Dynaudio, “active” does not mean: one amplifier per speaker. But one amplifier per chassis. In the case of the Focus 10, two amplifiers. What's the point of driving tweeters and mid-woofers with their own amplifiers? This gives you more control over their playback performance. And that means every single driver sounds as good as it gets - without compromise.

Highly developed DSP technology takes the reins. Constantly improving digital signal processing, Dynaudio has been able to apply all the knowledge gained in the development of the award-winning Focus XD, Xeo, LYD and Core product lines. The result is a system that is as effective as it is easy to use. All you have to do is specify the position of the speakers in the room (near a wall, in a corner or in an open space) using the app. The playback behavior is then optimized for this position. If you want to consistently calibrate your system, you can tailor the sound for your living room with the optional Dirac Live technology.

And even the magnetically held speaker covers are part of an intelligent overall solution. The Focus 10 automatically detects when these covers are attached or removed and automatically adjusts the equalizer settings. You can see this when the status indicator flashes blue briefly.

The intelligence of these speakers goes hand in hand with impressive performance. 110 watts of class D amplification from Pascal for the tweeter and another 280 watts for the woofer: the Focus 10 is equipped to fill even medium-sized rooms with high-quality sound. In fact, even connoisseurs find it hard to believe that a speaker of this size can play so powerfully.

There's even an automatic fail-safe system that Dynaudio uses to ensure your speakers won't be damaged if you crank it up a notch: a special 'sliding' high-pass filter reduces woofer excursion at very high levels. This is also a clever form of investment protection.

Classic Dynaudio chassis

The drivers of the Focus are just as impressive as the technology that drives them.

At the top we find the 28 mm diameter Cerotar fabric tweeter. It utilizes techniques and materials developed during the development of the award-winning Confidence, Special Forty and Core speaker series. This includes the Hexis inner dome. Located just below the diaphragm, it smoothes the airflow behind the playback surface, resulting in a balanced frequency response with no unwanted resonances. The optimized magnet system of the tweeter is equipped with strontium carbonate ferrite+ ceramic magnets to further increase sensitivity. It enables incredibly detailed and natural high-frequency reproduction. It minimizes listening fatigue - so you can enjoy your favorite music for longer. And that's the way it should be.

The 14 cm Esotec+ woofer/midrange driver is the best of its kind and size from Dynaudio. It represents the knowledge gathered during the development of the new Contour series. So he has a pedigree that no speaker need be ashamed of. The new bead and the improved magnet system ensure an extended cone stroke. The Esotec+ has a larger frequency response in the bass range and also impresses with its excellent mid-range reproduction. And because it does its work in a sealed enclosure, Dynaudio have been able to optimize the bass response so that the pit of your stomach will be satisfied too.

Simply exciting

The Focus 10 wouldn't be a Dynaudio speaker if it didn't look stunning.
