JVC has revised all components
JVC, a leading name in projector technology, has once again set a milestone by completely redesigning all the key components of its latest range of projectors. The optical unit, lens and circuit board have been redesigned from the ground up to create the world's smallest native 4K projector. This remarkable design is the result of intensive research and development aimed at providing a combination of compact design and outstanding picture quality.
Excellent brightness and durability
JVC's proprietary Blu-Escent laser technology uses a blue laser diode as the light source, resulting in remarkable brightness and a long service life. The DLA-NZ700 achieves an impressive brightness of 2,300 lumens, while the DLA-NZ500 shines with 2,000 lumens. Both models offer a laser life of around 20,000 hours, which is exceptional in this class of device and enables long-term use without frequent maintenance. This high brightness ensures that vivid and dynamic images can be projected even in bright rooms without losing color fidelity or contrast sharpness.
Outstanding resolution and detail
Another highlight of this new projector series is the newly developed large format lens, which consists of 80 mm diameter, 15 lenses in 11 groups. This lens has been specially designed to ensure fully native 4K D-ILA resolution in every corner of the image. This results in exceptional sharpness and detail that will impress even the most demanding home cinema lovers. The clarity and precision of the projected image makes every detail, be it in films, games or presentations, appear in the highest quality.
Gen2 Frame Adapt HDR function for brighter and more colorful HDR images
The Frame Adapt HDR function, which uses a proprietary algorithm to analyze the maximum brightness of HDR10 content per scene or frame in real time and adjust the tone mapping to the optimal dynamic range for video projection, has evolved. Now available in its second generation (Gen2), this function offers a comprehensively revised tone adjustment to produce HDR images with even higher definition. The result is HDR images that are not only brighter and more colorful, but also cover an expanded dynamic range, resulting in unprecedented image quality. The tone curve selection algorithm has also been improved to enable more precise adjustment and thus more realistic image reproduction.
Deeper blacks for richer gradations
With the introduction of the new Deep Black Tone Control function, Frame Adapt HDR has been further improved. This function uses a new algorithm to further suppress the tones in dark areas, creating a more realistic darkness. This maximizes the dynamic range of the new generation of 4K D-ILA devices and delivers images with a contrast that exceeds all previous expectations. In particular, scenes with both light and dark shades, such as nighttime cityscapes, can now be projected with a level of realism never before achieved.
Innovative features for an unparalleled cinema experience
In addition to these key features, the new JVC projectors come with a range of functions that ensure an outstanding home cinema experience. The completely redesigned interior and exterior of the projector contribute to it being the world's smallest native 4K projector. The new BLU Escent laser light source, paired with a high-quality 80 mm lens made up of 15 elements in 11 groups, ensures image quality that is second to none. With a native contrast ratio of 40,000:1 and a dynamic contrast ratio of 8:1, images are reproduced in a level of detail that makes even the finest gradations visible.
The projectors support HDR10+ metadata that automatically renders images as the creator intended. The Frame Adapt HDR function dynamically adjusts each HDR10 content frame by frame or scene by scene, automatically adjusting to produce optimal images. The improved gamma processing with 12-18 bit accuracy ensures smoother and finer gradation. The Auto Tone Mapping function automatically adjusts the settings to ensure optimal HDR10 image quality.
In addition, the color management system features a 6-axis matrix that offers a wide color gamut that exceeds the DCI/P3 standard, producing saturated, vivid images that come to life. The 0.69-inch 4K D-ILA (4096 x 2160) chip provides high brightness of 2,000 lumens, enabling vivid and dynamic images even in bright environments.
FILMMAKER MODE™ ensures that the filmmaker's intentions are faithfully reproduced, while the projector automatically switches to HDR picture mode as soon as HDR10 signals are received. Other innovative features such as Clear Motion Drive, ISF C3 (Certified Calibration Controls) mode and Low Latency Mode make this projector a true all-rounder for home cinema enthusiasts and professional applications alike.
In conclusion, with its new 4K projectors, JVC has launched a product that impresses with its technical sophistication and outstanding image quality and sets standards in the world of home cinema projectors.
