Model 6 with M2-9 tonearm
The Model 6's sides are made from a new high-tech, high-density polymer material with resonance-absorbing and excellent tonal properties. The turntable, drive pulley, bearings and axle of the Model 6 are manufactured by specialists at SME on their own, ultra-precise machines and meet the highest standards of precision and durability for years of untroubled music enjoyment. The feet of the Model 6 are a highly effective combination of strong aluminum and a cushioning polymer from the aerospace industry.
The drive is provided by a newly developed AC motor, which receives its power supply via an external power pack and control unit in order to keep possible disturbing influences away from the tone arm and cartridge. To ensure that the record sits firmly and without vibration, the Model 6 is also supplied with a high-quality aluminum record clamp.
The Model 6 is equipped with an improved version of the SME M2-9 tonearm. The tonearm tube is extremely stiff and internally specially dampened. The tonearm is suitable for a wide variety of MM and MC pickups in the weight class between 5-12 g. The headshell for the pickup is made of light and stiff magnesium aluminum and allows flexible adjustment of the azimuth.
