The day of the summer solstice has always been considered a mystical day by people. Some even celebrate it with secular or religious celebrations.

This year Naim Audio is not only celebrating the day of the summer solstice, but also something completely different:

The release of the first own turntable.

For vinyl fans, there is nothing better than the organic, natural sound of a record. The limited Solstice series concentrates all the purity, passion and technical perfection that defines Naim on the playback of records: In almost 50 years of company history, the Solstice is their first record player .

More than just a turntable

The Solstice is only available as a strictly limited special edition , which, in addition to the turntable, includes a modernized version of the legendary Aro tonearm, the Equinox MC cartridge, the Solstice power supply, the Solstice phono stage and a tailor-made accessory and tool set.

Tonearm Aro:

Even after the CD emerged in the 1980s, Naim continued to advocate vinyl, producing the legendary ARO tonearm in 1989. The Aro has always set the standard when it comes to delivering incredibly natural, organic and lifelike music reproduction. Its design allows the cartridge to extract enormous amounts of information from the grooves of a record, with an incredible sense of flow and correctness in the resulting sound.

High quality materials for improved performance:
When the Aro was updated for the Solstice Special Edition, the design principles and excellent performance of the original were retained, but performance was enhanced through the use of improved materials - including tungsten and carbon fiber - and the addition of an all-new uncompromising camber, arm height and azimuth -Adjustment increased even further.

The new Aro may be even stiffer, but its approach is more flexible: it retains the familiar three-point mount - which maximizes the integrity of the critical interface with the Equinox cartridge - but also has slotted two-point mounts for alternative cartridges. Finally there is even a lifting-lowering device.

Cartridge Equinox (MC)

Developed with Swiss clockwork precision:
The inside of the Equinox cartridge, the Moving Coil (MC), sits in a solid aluminum housing that was milled from a single block. An inclined, silver-polished bevel runs over the black edges of the pickup, which at the same time makes the invisible facets of the diamond needle visible and an allusion to the traditional Naim design of the 'chrome bumper'.

Phono level Solstice (NVC TT)

With the aim of building a wonderful sounding phono stage that is both easy and flexible to use, Naim drew on earlier designs such as the SuperLine, but also on the pinnacle of Naim technology: the statement amplifier. The Solstice series phono stage is the first to feature the discrete controls developed for this flagship.

Under the direction of Technical Director, Steve Sells, Naim's experienced engineers have developed simple yet elegant circuits powered by high-performance DR technology that provides the steady, stable power supply essential for top-class performance . Our production technicians then take high quality components and measure, select and adjust them with the greatest care.

Power supply Solstice (NPX TT)

The Solstice series power supply is a bespoke design that supplies power to both the turntable and the phono stage. For the ultimate in performance, these two different power supplies are fully isolated so there is no risk of interference.

While the NVC TT phono stage and the NPX TT power supply of the Solstice series are made by hand in Salisbury, the NVS TT turntable, the ARO arm and the Equinox cartridge by Clearaudio are manufactured exactly according to the unique design of Naim.

Complete playback system from a single source

The Solstice Special Edition contains all components that are necessary for perfect vinyl reproduction. Naim developed it completely in-house as an absolutely coherent system to offer the best vinyl sound that has ever been heard. And all without the usual complications and in a modern, uniform design: All Solstice components have been developed and coordinated with and for each other. Nothing was left to chance.

And what else?

The special edition is rounded off by an exclusive hardcover book and a vinyl album specially produced by the Naim Records label. The worldwide number of Solstice systems is limited to 500 pieces . Every single one of them is therefore a rare collector's item.
