SUEDE - DOG MAN STAR

Time for a classic: DOG MAN STAR by Suede is the most amazing album that nobody knows about. That's what you read in the relevant music magazines in 1994, which were disappointed with the second album by the British sensational band (their debut album, entitled Suede, landed at number 1 in the British charts). So they pounced on the story behind the album: guitarist and songwriter Bernard Butler was kicked out by the rest of the band during the recording of DOG MAN STAR - the personal and musical differences, especially with Brett Anderson, the other creative head and voice of the band, were simply too great.

From the record company's point of view, DOG MAN STAR did not meet expectations in terms of sales (unfortunately only reaching number 3) and with its jam-packed, brutal anthems, in which you can hardly hear a Britpop note, it could not beat Oasis, Blur or Pulp. Whatever the case, DOG MAN STAR is more timeless, open and dazzling than any colourful Britpop album from the 90s and still sounds fresh and passionate today.
