Breaking News: Oppo UDP-203

At CEDIA in Dallas, rumors suddenly started circulating: Oppo was said to have something truly new to show. An Australian dealer actually found the future UHD player from the technology leader at the booth—the UDP-203—and posted some pictures. There is still no official announcement, so there is some uncertainty about features and technical specifications. However, it can be seen that the UDP-203 has three HDMI connections. Other UHD players typically have two sockets, with one dedicated solely to audio signals for optimal sound quality. The third socket on the Oppo could therefore be an input that allows 4K signals to be passed through. Maybe the UDP-203 can even upscale video signals from external sources to 4K resolution? Who knows... There is also an analog 7.1 audio output, digital audio outputs, a total of three USB 3.0 ports (one in the front), and a network connection. According to further rumors, the UDP-203 is also supposed to be equipped with 5GHz WiFi. Oppo itself continues to keep quiet about the details. The only official statement is that the player is scheduled to hit the market "at the end of 2016." The price of about 500 US dollars, mentioned in Dallas, was also not commented on—according to the German distributor, you should expect to pay around 750 euros here. Even so, the Oppo UDP-203 would still be a bargain. We will keep following this story and publish all reliable information on our website as soon as possible.
