Event: Whisky Tasting with Daft Punk & Pink Floyd

A Perfect Couple: Highland Park Single Malt & LINN Exakt System Last Friday, March 28, 2014, we met with wonderful guests at AUDITORIUM Hamm to celebrate two things that make life worth living: good music and fine single malt whisky! The event had been fully booked for days, yet we still received daily requests from people hoping there might be a spot left. Some guests even showed up spontaneously in the evening, so that in the end, almost 50 visitors gathered at the AUDITORIUM.

Pleasure for Body and Soul: Fine Whisky and Good Music
After a warm welcome from AUDITORIUM managing director Sebastian Schwarte, guests enjoyed their first sip for body and soul: whisky expert Jens Rosenberg gave a brief introduction to the Highland Park distillery and shared some facts about the history and production of single malts. The first taste of Highland Park’s flavor profiles came in the form of the brand’s 12-year-old whisky. Since Jens Rosenberg was generous with the AUDITORIUM guests, most were able to take another sip or two into the first listening session.

LINN Systems at Their Best
In two groups, visitors took their seats in the listening rooms, where Nils Hölscher and Lutz Jebe from Linn took charge of the musical program with Daft Punk and Pink Floyd, presenting nearly 50 minutes of music and the history of both bands over the provided Exakt and Akurate systems from Linn. Before the two listening groups switched rooms, there was a little something to eat, and a generous portion of the fine ‘Highland Park 18 Years’ lifted everyone’s spirits. After the second listening session, guests had the chance to taste the rare 15-year-old Highland Park, which is considered long sold out. But the evening was far from over; many guests stayed to discuss what they had heard and tasted with the experts from Highland Park, Linn, and the AUDITORIUM.
