From mid-April in the AUDITORIUM: Sony VPL-HW40ES

With the VPL-HW40ES, Sony sets a new price point for SXRD projectors—never before have the rich contrasts and natural color reproduction of this technology been available at such an affordable price. 3D playback, the super-quiet (21dB!) chassis, and the high motion sharpness of its big brother, the HW55, are also features of the VPL-HW40. Derived from the successful VPL-HW55, the new and almost one-third more affordable VPL-VW40 offers nearly the same technical platform and a comparable level of performance. The latest SXRD panels with a size of 0.61 inches and FullHD resolution are also used here. With Motionflow (frame interpolation in 2D and 3D) as well as the "Reality Creation" image processor, the most important image technologies are on board. Another highlight that the HW40 has inherited from the HW55 is the proven, noise-optimized chassis design, which enables an unsurpassed quiet operation at only 21dB. This whisper-quiet sound level and the high brightness of 1700 lumens make the VPL-HW40 particularly suitable for use in a living room cinema. It is therefore sensibly also available with a white housing.
