HIGH END 2015 - The Report

by Olaf Adam
Four exciting days in Munich are behind us, and once again, HIGH END as a trade show has set new records. More than 20,000 visitors wandered through the exhibition halls and demonstration rooms, where manufacturers from 42 countries presented their innovations. HIGH END once again underlined its international top ranking as the world's most important hi-fi show by the sheer number of European and world premieres introduced to the public in Munich. Whether it was the bold new concept Phase 3 from Burmester, the new extreme DAC Dave from Chord Electronics, the Audio Physic Avanti in precious wood, or the massive Fischer&Fischer SN/SL 770.1 AMT – there were more exciting new products to see and hear than most visitors had time for. Accordingly, the lines in front of most demonstrations were long, and we didn’t always have time to wait everywhere. That’s why the overview below is a highly subjective selection; we have certainly forgotten or overlooked one or two exciting products (Hover over the images for more information, clicking starts the slideshow). But that’s not a big problem, because everything else that’s worth further attention will find its way to us in Hamm or Munich over the coming weeks anyway. And you can listen there in a much more relaxed atmosphere than at a crowded trade show. For the sake of completeness: Our HIGH END preview can be found in our archives.
