ISE 2014: Classé Sigma Series

The new Sigma series from the Canadian manufacturer has already been in planning for some time and, according to rumors, was originally expected to be available by the end of 2013. However, since this is a complete redevelopment and the new series is ultimately intended to live up to the brand name, there have been some delays. Now, a market launch is planned for the end of the first half of the year, and the specifications are largely set: the heart and control center of the system will be the Sigma SSP, a modern surround processor with eight channels, seven HDMI inputs, USB ports for iPod and computer, as well as network connectivity that can be used both for streaming from a media server and for controlling the SSP via app. The Classé developers, by the way, placed special emphasis on the sound quality and functionality of stereo applications, so the Sigma SSP should also bring genuine pleasure to hi-fi fans. Two power amplifiers will accompany this powerful processor. The Amp2 offers two channels with 200 watts each, while the Amp5 logically features five amplifier sections with the same output. If you combine the SSP with both amplifier models, you get a full-fledged 7.1 setup. Of course, we will keep you updated as soon as further information about prices and availability becomes available.
