New 600 Series from B&W!

High-End Sound Thanks to High-Tech Materials

The 600 series is probably the most successful range of speakers from the British manufacturer Bowers & Wilkins and has always stood out for its excellent price/performance ratio. Over the years, the series has been revised again and again and enhanced with the latest technologies. Today, the latest incarnation of the series was introduced and B&W proves once again that good things can always get even better. As before, the new series consists of two floor-standing speakers, two bookshelf speakers, two center speakers, a dipole/monopole surround speaker, and the three already well-known subwoofers. All speakers use the proven drivers with FST Kevlar membranes, which have given B&W speakers their distinctive look and sound for years. In the large floor-standing speaker, the 683 S2, two bass drivers also work with a new dual-layer diaphragm construction, promising an even cleaner bass response. However, the most important innovation in the series is without a doubt the elaborately crafted new tweeter with a dual-layer dome, which was used for the first time in the high-quality CM10. This high-end technology is now also used in all models of the new 600 series. Another special feature is the mounting of the tweeter in the cabinet: the entire construction, including the patented 'Nautilus' tube, sits in a gel cushion and is thus completely decoupled from the rest of the cabinet. In combination with the revised construction, all the prerequisites are in place for the speakers of the new 600 series to clearly surpass their predecessors in terms of sound quality.
