New Rubicon Series from DALI
Our first high-end highlight is already set, because from May 15th to 18th in Munich, DALI will be presenting an extremely interesting new loudspeaker family to see and hear. The new Rubicon series offers various technologies from the successful Epicon line at a significantly lower price. New series from DALI: The Rubicon models in elegant wood veneer. A key technical highlight of all Rubicon models are the 165 mm large mid/bass drivers with their reddish shimmering membranes made from wood fibers and paper. In addition, these drivers, exclusively manufactured by DALI in Denmark, feature a modified version of the "Linear Drive" magnet system developed by DALI. The pole core consists of an innovative magnetic powder called SMC (Soft Magnetic Compound). SMC effectively prevents interfering eddy currents in the magnetic gap, allowing for very precise reproduction free from distortion.
DALI Rubicon - The Models
With the exception of the Rubicon 2, all models use hybrid tweeter units for high-frequency reproduction, consisting of an extremely lightweight fabric dome and a ribbon. This proven DALI combination ensures a detailed and airy sound. However, the compact two-way speaker Rubicon 2, equipped with a fabric dome, also fits perfectly into the high-quality sound signature of the Rubicon family. As a slim floor-standing speaker, the Rubicon 5 stands at just 89 centimeters tall. Here, the mentioned hybrid tweeter is joined by a 165 mm mid/bass driver. One size up, the Rubicon 6 operates with two mid/bass drivers and the same tweeter system. The flagship of the series is the Rubicon 8, which is 22 cm wide and 110 cm tall, featuring three cone drivers. Each mid/bass driver sits in its own bass reflex enclosure volume.
Versatile: DALI Rubicon LCR
A particularly versatile member of the Rubicon family is the Rubicon LCR. This speaker, only 14 cm deep, can be placed both on the wall and on a shelf. This makes the LCR just as suitable for a small hi-fi system as for a surround setup. The Danish developers thought of everything: the hybrid tweeter unit in the LCR can be rotated 90 degrees in just a few simple steps if the speaker is to be used as a center speaker. The Rubicon models, available in elegant satin walnut or reddish Rosso real wood veneers, as well as white or black high-gloss finishes, will be available at AUDITORIUM starting in June.
