Project: Elegant TV Integration

Sometimes it’s the seemingly small wishes that present real challenges for the planners at Auditorium. Just like in this bedroom, which was supposed to get a television as part of a larger project. That sounds simple, but in the end, the experts had to come up with quite a few ideas ...

The Situation

As with the rest of the house, the interior designer had planned a very clean, minimalist design for the bedroom. Additionally, the room was meant to take full advantage of the fantastic panoramic view provided by the large window fronts. The television therefore had to be integrated in such a way that it was easily visible from the bed, but wouldn’t block the view for anyone waking up in the morning.

The Solution 1 - TV in the Ceiling

Given the circumstances and requirements, there was actually only one possible place for the TV—the ceiling. In coordination with the homeowners and the interior designer, the screen size and mounting position were determined. The Auditorium experts then selected the flattest possible folding mechanism and adapted it to meet the requirements. When switched off, the television now disappears behind a white cover, flush with the ceiling. When you want to use it, it automatically folds down at a 100-degree angle into the perfect viewing position.

The Solution 2 - Invisible Sound

Like all modern flat-screen TVs, the sound of the device used was a bit too thin, especially in the installed position here. That’s why the brilliant image of the flat TV needed audio support, which was achieved with in-wall speakers on the left and right of the device. These are recessed into the wall (or in this case, the ceiling) and can be plastered over, painted, and even wallpapered. Afterwards, the sound characteristics of the speakers are precisely adjusted to the materials above them through several exact measurements, ensuring the best possible sound.

Fully Integrated

Of course, the absolutely invisible speakers don’t just play the TV sound; they’re also connected to the house’s multiroom system and can play music from the central server, the radio, or a streaming service. Control is conveniently handled via an app for tablet or smartphone.
