T+A - the new R-Series
"Actually, we are scientists," because T+A stands for Theory and Application in audio technology. This is how the T+A catalog for the brand new R-Series begins – and this was also the impression we received during the introduction of these new devices at T+A headquarters, along with a brief factory tour for a behind-the-scenes look. What also became clear: just how passionately science is pursued at T+A – attention to detail and great enthusiasm for even the smallest component were evident throughout the day. In 1992, T+A launched the first R-Series. Now, the innovative R-Series 2000 follows. This range includes two integrated amplifiers, the PA 2000 R and PA 2500 R, a multi-source player, the MP 2000 R, and a turntable, the G 2000 R. The latter is available in two versions. The first impression, even before hearing the first note: more compact, very high-quality housings made of hand-brushed aluminum – available in elegant silver or classic black – in a timeless, pure design reminiscent of previous models, promise not just visual delight with the new R-Series. A real innovation in the R-Series is the high-voltage technology, previously reserved only for the H-V Series – the "smaller" integrated amplifier PA 2000 R is extremely stable under load and delivers 200 watts at 4 ohms. The larger PA 2500 R achieves 280 watts at 4 ohms. Power and stability, even under peak loads, convinced us during a demonstration. Also new: both amplifiers now come with three direct XLR inputs. Operation in a surround system via surround pass-through with activation by trigger signal is also possible.
