The AUDITORIUM on the road: Audio Physic

In the tranquil town of Brilon, genuine high-end speakers "Made in Germany" have been created for over 25 years, confidently bridging the gap between technical necessities and appealing design. We had to take a closer look at this!  The 'headquarters' of Audio Physic in the peaceful Brilon We like to say it often: At Auditorium, we only offer products that we unconditionally trust ourselves and can wholeheartedly recommend. Of course, this first requires an intensive examination of the respective devices. Just as important to us, however, is direct contact with the manufacturers themselves. This is the case, for example, with Audio Physic, with whom we have maintained a good, cooperative relationship for years—and not just because of their proximity to us. Naturally, we gladly accepted an invitation to Brilon to learn about the latest innovations.

Classic speaker construction and innovative technology—at Audio Physic, these are not mutually exclusive Here in Hochsauerlandkreis is where Audio Physic is headquartered, and most of their production takes place. Only the manufacturing of the successful Classic Line is currently outsourced, but this is something people here are not particularly fond of—even though the distance is barely more than 500 meters as the crow flies.  To soon bring the Audio Physic "family" back together under one roof, plans for a generous expansion of the production area at the headquarters have just begun. This decision (and especially the reasoning behind it) fits perfectly with the down-to-earth image that characterizes Audio Physic's overall production. While the cabinets and chassis for the Westphalian speakers are delivered by specialist companies, the vast majority of production happens here in Brilon. And mostly by good, old-fashioned handcraft, with the renowned precision and solid results. All crossovers are assembled on site, and even some of the final assembly of the chassis takes place here.

It stays in the "family": Crossover assembly at Audio Physic in Brilon And because the name Audio Physic stands for high-quality products, all delivered parts—from individual crossover components to the prepared cabinets—are subjected to rigorous quality control. Experienced employees carry out these checks, knowing exactly what can and cannot be used in production. Especially with the visible surfaces of the cabinets, the standards are extremely high: what would be easily processed elsewhere in normal production is not even used as B-stock here, but is simply sent for recycling as waste.

Delivered raw cabinets: Every part undergoes meticulous quality control With this attention to external details, it's no surprise that great value is also placed on the inner qualities of every speaker. Before the individual chassis are installed in the respective boxes, they are measured electrically and acoustically with great precision and minimal tolerances. Based on these measurements, the transducers for each pair of speakers (except the Classic Line) are perfectly matched so that they harmonize acoustically. The differences measured here are probably well beyond what even a trained ear can resolve, but better safe than sorry.

With numerous technical innovations, they have always enriched the world of speaker construction. The latest innovation can be found in the newly introduced Tempo 25 plus+. A high-strength, open-pored foam made of a ceramic material serves both as a highly efficient damping material and to stabilize the cabinet in the bass driver's chamber. The damping of the midrange chamber has also been revised, and changes to the internal wiring and crossovers were primarily aimed at eliminating the transmission of the smallest vibrations. All of these may seem like detail improvements, but together they deliver a stunning result. Compared to the 'conventional' Tempo 25, the revised version feels almost like a completely different speaker. Bass control, detail resolution, spatiality—in all relevant aspects, you truly get a very noticeable "plus+"!

We'll be happy to come again! Discover more about this: At Auditorium, you can find speakers from Audio Physic.
